Yes, when I started looking into my idea I was annoyed to find someone else had had the same thoughts as me and been able to realise it sooner than I could. However, at least it gave me a template to work off!

Back in October I said:

Most of the rain rail has been removed/destroyed by the wreckers. If water gets in I'll remove it again and fashion one out of duct tape.

Well, my non-existant rain rail was no match for the very heavy rains we had a few weeks ago, as I discovered last Sunday when I installed the mount for my in-car camera. Unfortunately, I couldn't do anything about it at the time. Today I removed my soft-top, squeezed what water I could from out of the sound-deadening, made myself a new rain rail, and then re-installed everything.

Priorities! Organise tea and biscuits:


Bodging up a new rain rail. (Duct tape, I love you!):


Back in it goes...




All finished:

The patches of wetness you can see is where I'd been jumping up and down on the sound-deadening in an effort to get the water out.
