Will do
One repairer is going to send it away while the other is going to do it in house so I'll ask the question

Just transfer now = get the car fixed, and reinsure with a real insurer sooner rather than later. What IF you just picked it up from the repairers and some other Camry driver driving idiot hits it again before renewal?

You're back on this roller coaster all over again.

No time like the present.

Well what happens when I get the car repaired, change insurance then drive down the road and something that wasn't picked up when it was repaired comes up? The insurance company won't even think for a second to fix it because I'm no longer insured with them.

A problem you wouldn't even have to think about if your insurance company gave you choice of repairer, you knew you could trust, rather than requiring the cheap option.

I've said all I'm going to - I DO hope your insurer does the right thing by this repair.

Well so took the car into the so called assessment centre today and still haven't got a result yet so they are going to look into the quotes closer because apparently there's too many variants and price differences...

Last time I made a claim through Justcar they were really good but now I feel that isn't the case any more and lets just say the person that took my claim over the phone wasn't easy to deal with and to say the least the assessor that assessed the car wasn't either.

As a result I went home and dialled Shannons to get a quote. Also had a chat with them about my current claim he suggested that I make complaints with my current insurer and lodge one with the Insurance Council.

Last time I got a quote from them it was more than double what I was paying (which I'm sure you guys can see why I didn't go with them) but this time however I think they would be even cheaper! if I compared both companies with the same excess etc so as a result I will be switching.

FYI Shannons and Just Car are owned by the same company.

Hmmm thought I updated this thread but I guess not

Anyway I sent my the MX-5 in early October and picked it up at the end of October so I've had her for a month now.

Everything is pretty much right although when my car went to get its wheel alignment done the place that did the wheel alignment marked all 4 wheels after it was repaired  so I'll be sending the MX-5 back in in a few weeks time to get them repaired.

Just another update

I've had the MX-5 back for close to almost 2 months now

Sent it back to the panel shop to get the wheels repaired and resprayed due the wheel alignment mob being a bit rough on the wheels :@

Anyway all has been pretty good so far and I'm very happy with the repair work done.

If anyone needs paint, panel work done etc Impact Panel Works over at Moorooka is the ONLY place to go.

I used them about 4 years ago on my old NB and they were really good then and was the reason why I wanted them and only them to take on the job and I'm glad that is what happened.

I've been pretty quiet on my thread lately but I thought I posted pics of these additions I added to the MX-5 but I guess not.

Anyway I got these a while ago

Satin Heater Control Knob Rings

Illuminating Gear Knob
Unfortunately the silver ring has started pealing paint and I'm not sure why

Image

I actually added a few resistors onto the light to reduce the brightness of it because it was too bright and was more red than the light redish orange on my dash

Wasn't going to get the IL Motorsports Centre Console but after getting a receipt stuck under the lid it was decided it had to be done.

Having an extra 12v socket is also a bonus and would be great for charging phones etc

Stock

Cup Holders beside Storage Tray

All screwed in

And back in the car

For the price they wanted for this storage tray the fitment wasn't that great at all.

First off when I screwed the tray to the centre console the tray itself lifted the Window Switch panel up which made it fit like this

Image

As a result I had to dremel a bit off where the tray pushes the window switch

Image

Now it sits reasonable flat but then I realise the new lid isn't even made with the same curve as the window switch :/ It's flush where the lid and the window meets in the centre and right but on the left it's raised up a few millimetres and there was nothing I could do about this.

Then came the colour match. BUT this could be because my interior has been exposed to sunlight and is 6 years old where as this lid is brand new.

You can't see it very well in the picture.
Image

Anyway would I do this again? I'm leaning towards no but there isn't any other solution apart from DIY.

Here you go, order them from the UK, just nominate either chrome or satin when place the order....
