Your adventures are beautifully photographed as always, it is nice to be at PITS before the rush! The road is bare and the pies taste better.!

Thanks Alex, but I couldn't stomach a pie so early in the morning. Good thing they also offer bacon and egg sandwich.

URAD is rad

Finally got my ass off the iPad and see if I can install the Beatrush Underbody Tray - aka URAD (Underbody Radiator Air Deflector)

I bought the underbody tray from one of the members in Mx5cartalk. He bought it new but found that his turbo FMIC and hoses in his MX5 hits the tray. So he decided to sell it off and lucky me I managed to snapped it up fairly quickly as I've been wanting one for ages.

Anyways, I've been procrastinating as I have a feeling that the GV lip I have will be an issue....well I guess wrong.

Image
My first task is to raise the car up in all fours. Thanks to Costco's lowered jack, an old wood ramp and the four stands I got her up in all fours.

Image
This is the current underbody tray with a corner dangling like an opened pinata.

View through the gap on the GV lip.

Image
Once I got the old underbody tray, I found that I only need to insert the URAD between the white bumper tongues and the plastic bumper tray.

Image
Side by side with the old underbody tray and the Beatrush URAD.

The URAD is much longer and more pleasing to the eye...hopefully, it is not just an eye candy and actually help with lowering the engine temp (which I don't I have high temp to start with) and possibly act as a diffuser as well...maybe

One of the things I like about the URAD is that there are holes for me to access the Radiator fluid release screw, and the Oil sump screw. No more removing the tray every time I do a service. I have a feeling the old one also allows me to do that but I never bothered and remove it as the first step when working under the car.

Image
I originally just want to do a trial fit and put everything back but once I managed to get the URAD into those tongue..I may as well finish it off.

Image
All holes lined up pretty well, this URAD in well built. Only issue I found is that the OEM bolts were to short, so I was off to the local Bunnings to get some longer stainless bolts and washers.

Image
Once I've tightened the four front bolts and two bolts in the middle, URAD is now secured.

Also took this pic from the back prior to installing the URAD...Beatrush Diff Brace is not lonely anymore.

Great sunset
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Got a part waiting to be installed once the temp at night get higher a bit.....and Babalouie Garage open its doors to welcome spring. (Insert dramatic, picturesque, and spring type ambience here)
