Re: Zabinskii's High Comp VVT Na6
quick update, front sub-frame is away at powder coaters,
engine bay has since been Primed,

slightly darker than primer base coated,

then full on base coated and now to wait till it dries to do the clear,

also speedo cable hole has been slightly altered so i can fit my mil spec plug in there, so far so good,
now to strip the rest of the paint off the outside of the car and ready that for painting

I never let the base coat dry before spraying the clear. Sure you let it get tachy but letting it dry means you have to sand or scuff then re clean between painting. I've always thought that my way was the norm.
Paint is looking good though.

Re: Zabinskii's High Comp VVT Na6
today i had worked on doing a bit of custom fab ( actually just modifying the stock mounts for ABS and the Wiper motor)
the ABS Pump Bracket has a stock mount that mounts to the wheel arch in the engine bay that was drilled out and had a nut welded on the back just to keep it planted,
seeing as the NA never came with abs it didn't have the mounting tab on there or the bottom of the engine bay, so i went about marking it out. (dont have photos)
Riv nuts in the body and used zinc paint to cover up exposed metal from drilling

bracket mounted up and modified

ABS pump fitted

then went to mount the NA wiper motor but realised the motor was facing the brake lines and would be in the way,
tried to mount the nb wiper motor bracket but the holes are entirely different locations, can not rotate the motor on the na one or put the nb motor on the NA bracket as the mounting holes on the motor are mirrored vertically, so i got out the trusty drill and drilled new holes on the Old Na Bracket and ground the heads down slightly as the stock holes have recessed surrounds to clear the firewall.

and installed gives me the clearance required

I am sick of not being able to weld aluminium. Jealous.
Nice stuff.
