There is another thread on here which talks about Emelio's (I think) recommendations for much higher torque on those bolts than Willwood recommends. While the heat would not help, that Willwood torque figure may have been part of the problem too. How does the torque specification on your new setup compare to the Willwood number?
What is the heat rating for the Locktite you used on the brake bolts, and caliper, if it melted/boiled/whatever that might have been part of the problem too.
As a Willwood user, I will follow your experience with this new setup with great interest.
