Dann...Can you work with this?

I am leaning towards the 'rolled out' top one as it has the appearance of a larger exit than it really is. I like the rolled end for the factory look.

Re: NitroDann's Long Awaited Garage Thread
Ok guys,
Everyone please tell me what they want to see done on a turbo mx5 that is either rare, difficult, over the top, or whatever.
Something just as a fabrication challenge..
Filthy huge drift spec V mount?
Lobsterback turbo manifold?
Over the radiator radiator setup with fabricated oval tubes rather than crushed round ones?
Give me fuel people.

Re: NitroDann's Long Awaited Garage Thread
I sent a group text message, and many replies have been V mount, and building a turbosupercharged setup.
Thanks,
And go the pictures, everyone join in!

Compund Turbo for something different.
Small t25 .48 rear housing feeding a T4 and hear your car spool twice once really smooth and progressively and another sideways.

Hey Dann,
With the Toyota COPs, did you end up using that capacitor on the +12v lines?

Re: NitroDann's Long Awaited Garage Thread
Hey Dann, what do you do for MIG and TIG gas?
There's a place called SpeedGas which will sell you a bottle outright (so no rental fees) and they have a distributor in Newcastle. I had my E-size argon exchanged (for a brand new bottle
) for ~$120 yesterday, so it's a bit more expensive than from SupaGas or BOC but there's no rental so it works out much cheaper. They also re-certify the cylinder for free if it goes out of date.
Hope this helps.

Re: NitroDann's Long Awaited Garage Thread
IIRC it was about $400, I don't remember if that included the gas but I think it did.

Re: NitroDann's Long Awaited Garage Thread
Heres some shots of work T28ing an SE.
The owner of the car bought a manifold against my recommendation, and both bloody things I told him were true.
1, It doesnt fit his turbo
2, Its 1mm thick chinese rubbish
Redeeming qualities-
1, The turbo flange is in the stock location, so I can build a jig with it
2, The flange is useable, however it arrived warped as hell
Ebay manifold pipe thickness this is basically the only reason they fail, but theres nothing you can do about it except what Im doing.

Heres straight steampipe, which is thinner than the bends, just.

The pipework was cut from the head flange retaining just the section that located the turbo flange. We had determined that if we lined up one of the bolt holes and kept the flange at the same angle all would be good. The square gal tube is tacked to the benchtop, where it will remain for the next few days as the manifold goes together.

The paint is to mark the position, you can see the head flange has been misted over the benchtop also, just incase it comes free, Or I need to move it.

A collector I quickly threw together.

Now you can see why I painted it.

T28 Flange in place ready to start planning pipework.

This collector will not work, Ill make a much sharper angled one thats closer to 5cm not 8cm length for this one. This collector was actually a test for my jig.
