I was consistant at Wakefield too

Just about every lap  But I was pretty happy to get into the 15s 1st time there... Just had to push a bit to get there, just couldn't find grip! I would be interested to do regularity too as quite often I see similar things... But I guess I enjoying the pushing at 100% part too much... 3 of my laps at Nurburgring were within 1 second of each other... Which I thought was incredible over 22km's and especially as I was trying pretty hard!

I'm hoping soon mine will be doing less kms as I want a nice cushy modern daily instead of a temperamental Italian...

Ah! I know that patch. One of the OzMazda guys convinced me I killed a duck when I came off there. It was the soaking wet day and there was a small lake formed right there. I did get a bunny on the way home a few days later at 3am just north of Benalla though. Luckily I managed to get all of the bunny out before the dyno day a few days later so we didn't smell like we had a bunny BBQ.

I know I just need to get the accelerator down more. Looking forward to going back and doing that very soon. My lines and gearing are spot on, it's just the right foot that needs some work and some aggression!

Has anyone changed a handbrake cable before? Where did you source the part from, quite expensive, will work out at around $200AU + from the UK for all 3 parts of the cable.. If thats what it costs okay.. Just seems like it should be less..

Try Allmaz. That's where I'll get mine. If I recall, there is a write up on miata.net.

What I'm posting on the forum

Would a NB one fit? If they do you can have the one off the NB.

 It has been a while since you've posted, make me look good! I'll have a look at the part numbers and see if they are the same.. Can't see why not though as the cars have the same brakes and floorpan.. Thanks :)

Looks like the front half of the cable is the same.. But the rear bit where it splits to each side is different apparently.. But going by the photos on MX-5 Parts website I can't any major differences... There are a lot of NA-NB parts that aren't meant to be interchangeable but I've found are, maybe this too..

The only difference I can think, is possibly length (although it would be minimal difference)

Didn't the NB (or NA8?) have a slightly wider track than the NA6 or something?

Pretty sure thats all the same as all of the parts that would be affected by a changed like that are interchangeable. The NB has 5mm wider track due to the uprights/ wishbones but my NA's whole rear subframe could go in your NB and vice versa let alone just the uprights. Front is a little more complicated in the changes but still interchangeable.

The NC has a much wider track but NA /NB is the same shell, mount points etc. I figure if the front cable is the same then the rears should be the same length. Only change could be if they pressed the floor pan slightly differently and routed the cable longer or shorter.

I got a new handbrake.. Massive thanks to Bruce!!! Turns out I only needed to replace the part that goes from the lever to the point where it splits to go to each calliper.

I then went and had some fun...

Thanks to Bob for filming the video and an extra huge special thanks to the Boaks for lending me a set of wheels and tyres to get to Adelaide the day after so I could shoot this video... The wheels and tyres they gave me and are on at the moment are a set of 17s with R-specs.. Anyone with a lowered / stiffer car I can advise you to never actually pay money to do this to your car bith for the sake of your back as well as the handling characteristics of the car!!

Also shot a few videos of interest recently... WTAC with 7tune and the Phillip Island 6 hour for Mazda Australia to help promote club level motor sport and the MX-5.
