Beautiful work mate, the front bar reminds me of the mighty ducks.

Re: Renesis NC Track Car - In the Build
Will be good to have an nc time attack car. I would cut the rear lower half of the flares off like the new wrc cars. Better aero...

Are you competing in WTAC 2012 with the R35?

Hi Hjt, unfortunately the R35 was sold a couple of months back to an overseas buyer (Germany). It is currently being packaged for shipping and will go to port next week.

The owner's decision to sell the car was most disappointing to everyone who was involved with building the car from scratch in just 13 weeks. We dearly would have loved to improve the aero package and take it to the overseas teams at the 2012 WTAC...but it was beyond our control!

However, we will be at WTAC 2012 with a trade stand (GT Plus - JV between GT Auto Garage and Automotive Plus).

Cheers,
Danny

Re: Renesis NC Track Car - In the Build
Well there's another 12 months gone by and not much done!
That's life I guess!
So this is what I've got done over the past year...
December 2011
The roll cage structure was pretty much finished except for the member behind the dash and the bracketry that will tie it into chassis...

Then I got stuck into carving up the left side front and rear quarters to work with the flares.
This is the front....

The mess!

...and the rear....I've still got to sheet the open section of body in.

With the new rear bar fitted.

...and back on the ground with the 4WD suspension fitted!
I have a new set of Ohlins but they don't need to be installed for some time yet!

February 2012
I made up the front wheel spacers so that the 9.5" rims would clear the brake calipers and get the front track width where is want it.

New wheel studs installed.

April/May 2012
After 3 years I finished the rear brake upgrade....
LHS

RHS

So I haven't touched the car for 7 months now....with a bit of luck I might get some time over the Xmas/New Year break...well here's hoping!
Cheers,
Danny
