Oh wow, more than 8 months since my last update.
I have done a fair bit to the car since last main update.
About 6 months after we rebuilt the VVT engine, I had been suffering crank case pressure and a lot of blowby, which turned out to be cracked ring lands on piston #4.
So dad surprised me with a new set of 83.5mm 9.5:1 CR Supertech pistons for my birthday.
Had it all installed, then found the rear sump seal leaking on the clutch. Time to pull the engine out again (for the umpteenth time...).
I also spent more money on the car this year than I should have.
I ended up buying:
-15x9 Konig Dial-Ins
-Hankook Z214 mediums in 225/45/15
-6 speed G/box
-cheapo C/F hardtop
-ebay wing and made some custom high rise mounts, and cable supports.
-strengthened the front splitter
-NitroDann twistmount combo
-bigger intercooler
Have been racing it in a few hillclimbs and some supersprints this year.
Last weekend I managed 5th outright from 105 cars with a 1:45.3 at SMSP GP/Gardner circuit (first time on this layout in this car), but was suffering misfires all the time on WOT at high RPM after about half a lap, which I suspect is coils, plugs or cam/crank sensor (stupid me didn't carry spares).
So I was limited to less than 3/4 throttle which is about 8-10psi, instead of 16-18psi that it was tuned for.
Previous supersprint times this year SMSP South (4th outright) with 1:03.1 and SMSP North (10th outright) with 1:14.0
Big thanks to Nitro Dann for all the support and tuning over the recent years, top bloke and really good at what he does.
Also a bigger thanks to my dad for helping me rebuild the engine (twice), aswell as all the times I needed help pulling the engine out and back in.
Oh, and my wife for not complaining about all the money I've spent.
I'm really happy with the car for the time being, apart from the recent misfires, so will try to fight the temptation to modify it more, and just keep it how it is, and just replace the usual consumables.

Others who have had issues with nb engines have found a ziptie around the plug of the cam sensors did wonders. Zip tie goes axially along the cable so it pulls the plug into the socket if that makes sense.

Thanks, Dann mentioned this also and we tried it, but it didnt help. I installed a brand new plug, sensor and cable when i rebuilt the engine 18 months ago, so i dont think this may have been the issue.
