The tabs near the top got rolled....... i'll take some pic's of the inside guard mods and post em up so you can see.

MXHEVN how do i get the eye ball vent thingy's out ? i got gauges to go in there....... just the center two....... What size gauges did you put in yours?

Not sure if the NB is the same but on an NA you just pull them straight out. Took me so long to figure that out before I knew about the wonders of here.

Fair enough, same deal with me ... still curious what you used a angle grinder for :lol:

mmm, get yourself a metal coat hanger, bend it out to a straight piece, then bend a hook at one end, try slide it through the vent, the hook need to come back out connected to the vent. Then all you do is yank the c*nt out, dont worry, it wont break.

If they are 60mm gauges then you will need to remove the vent surround also, so get a flat head screw driver and pry inbetween the gap where the dash and surround is at either the 9 oclock or 3 oclock position, should pop then pull it out.

I'm currently running 5 52mm gauges, i previously had 4 all along the vents, but the rollcage will be covering both far vents. I have oil pressure (nb stock op does jack sh*t) and water temp (and again stock does nothing) in the main vents, then below i have oil temp (good to have) afr and volts (will ditch the volts later on, mainly there to fill the last hole up :lol:)

The cars stance looks great, but I could only imagine the pain of speedbumps/gutters etc.

My 10AE desperately needs a drop at both ends, especially the back, but I already have no end of trouble on the speed bumps at work :frown: :lol:

not sure if the 10AE had the same bracing as the nb8b's, but i had to raise the rear of my car because the bracing kept scraping through the speed humps (which a few of them have actually bent a bit), and raised the front, as the garage vary lip extended and lowered the front, and made it impossible to exit/enter my driveway :cry: if
i can't brain today.. i have the dumb..

This is a pic of my housemates i-phone on its side under the chassis seam, just in front of the rear wheel. An i-phone is 63mm wide !!! i thought the car looked higher than that !

You can see the very tip of the rear bar has been ground down by the tyre.....but its the middle of the wheel arch thats causing the trouble.

These are pic's from inside the rear left guard..... it was scrubbing the most. I am happy to have a little scrubbing here or there to achieve the right look.... But this one guard was really pissing me off.....mainly because all the others were not making a sound!!! So after the paint blistered!! :frown: I decided to investigate.... You can see the bit of tab i cut off with the angle grinder.

Yeah the garage door has graphiti on the back of it, and i was parked under it while taking these photos's (just incase your wondering what the heck is in the back ground)

Ha ha ha yeah my jack is one of those half alloy half steel racing jacks....... its 89 mm at the lifty bit..... So i have to drive up onto wooden blocks every time i want to jack my car.

The BC coilovers performed very well on saturday at winton raceway...... I'd even go as far as to say they worked better than the JIC's i had in my previous car (nissan 180sx) Being used to quite firm drift suspension setups........ the BC rear spring rate seemed a little soft to me so i raised the spring rate by compressing the spring. From the underside of the coilover top to the bottom of the spring at factory pre-tension, the length was 162 mm.....So i wound up the spring compressing nut untill the spring length was 150mm. I also adjusted the valve to setting 24 of 32 .......the end result on the track was a very balanced feel and excellent turn in. Braking heavy seemed good, front valving was set at level 16 of 32, and not even the bumps at winton could upset the car if i left braking to the last second....... Basically the car felt completely controllable when pushed really hard, which is really good because i hope to turbo the car eventually, and i hope to maintain that "mx5" balance.

MXHEVN- My car is low.....you car is low......with those side skirts IT looks very low......which means the po po will think it looks very low too. Id like to avoid them as much as i can...... and i like the shape of the standard guard in front of the rear wheel, that curvy lump bit, and the oem skirts cover up the bit i like....

This is the spec's of the wheel alighnment i got..... limited by wheel size and the factory adjustability....

FRONT-
Camber- 2.4 deg
Castor- 6.3 deg
Toe- + 2mm

REAR
Camber- 4.4 deg (yeah not alot of rubber on the ground, but with stock power traction isn't a problem... yet)
Toe- neg .6mm total

With the OEM sideskirts, you dont achieve any less ground clearance, as they stop at the same height as the pinch weld, thus giving the true "look" at the height, and not being fooled that the car is higher.

dont go soft on me, i have been waiting a while for someone to step this sh*t up!

you will get defected either way + your on coils.

Thats alot of rear camber, are you still repping credit card flushness?

do you have your stock jack, it should of came with the car ... anyway if that stock jack, does not fit under the pinch welds then you are slammed to the US standard.
