Have got my entry in for Lakeside general practice on Sunday 18th August. Really looking forward to being back on track after missing last months date.
I’m also super keen to see how the brakes perform now. If the recent rain hasn’t stripped all the grip off the track is a 60.x second lap a possibility?

Re: Custard’s Tart
Had a fun morning at Lakeside Park yesterday.
The track was very green after recent rain but the new Kumho V710 tyres were extremely grippy. I could take the last corner onto the pit straight flat out compared to a slight lift on the NT01's. This also meant I was arriving at the kink about 10kph faster which was interesting!
The new EBC Yellow pads were excellent, lots of bite, feedback and no fade. All up I'd rate them better than the A1RM's on both track and road.
The new Tomei header didn't contact the steering column which I was very relieved about and the Super Q muffler did at least make the car sound respectable on track without troubling the noise meter.
I haven't got round to sorting the gearbox and had a fair bit of crunching from 5th to 4th and 4th to 3rd. I'm still not entirely sure it isn't me adjusting to the different clutch travel following the engine swap. There's no issues when road driving so I'm reluctant to pull the box and do a full strip down at this stage.
I apologise for the over exposed video, I really must get a GoPro sorted in time for the next trip in two weeks.
if lap times aren't your thing, look away now but I really struggled to get a clear lap in any session, unfortunately I was put in a class with almost all cars (except 2 other fast NB's) that were around 10 secs a lap slower and whilst everyone drove very thoughtfully and made every effort to let me by I only got 1 lap a session that wasn't spoiled.
I've uploaded a video of my fastest lap, a 62.4 with a fastest predicted lap of 61.8 but I think there's a fair chunk of time available just getting used to the extra tyre grip and breaking performance plus a bit of rubber on the track would help
So I asked the question in another thread, which would be faster, the 245x17 NT01's or the 225x16 V710's and whilst the lap times say the NT01's by a tenth I'm certain the V710 has at least a second on the Nitto's but more important for me, I prefer the way they feel, much nicer on the limit and made the car really adjustable mid corner with no drama. I ran them 32 hot all round and have no idea if this is right but expect it's too hot, so if any one knows the best pressures please let me know?

Thanks.
Yes I'm really happy with how everything's worked out.
Overall the car feels very quick on the track now, certainly fast enough that I'm a bit concerned I don't have better protection. It's also fast enough to be challenging and has me seriously thinking I don't need a turbo/supercharger to have any more fun. I had thought I might need to upgrade the calipers and rotors but it's just not necessary.
I would say that I have been trying do a proper job with everything and keep that OEM feel but in reality I haven't managed it. The tune is not factory smooth at lower revs and whilst the handling on track is brilliant the ride is a bit too harsh on the road for my wife's liking. So I think I'll get another tune done at some point and I'm going to swap the MCA Red's out for some Ohlins so if anybody wants a straight swap let me know?
The whole exhaust system has worked out better than I'd hoped though after a few false starts and I love the standard seats so much that I'm not going to bother with fixed buckets. I've found a local company that will modify the OEM seat to take a full harness and I'm looking into some bolt in side bars for the track.
I might ditch the semi slicks at some point and just use the stock RE003's because as someone on here said, it's not all about lap times.....

It scoots along pretty well! Any idea on the cornering G's you are getting now?
Also, what wheel and tyres size are on it?

I haven't looked at cornering G's tbh. I was running 16" RX7 FD wheels with 225x45's kumho V710's for this session.
I made a another lighthearted vid from clips throughout the 3 sessions. Not sure if I'll get into editing video but I'll see. It might be more interesting if I have a better camera and sound.

You might be able to just swap spring rates - which are pretty cheap - rather than a completely different set of coil-overs.
Unfortunately you’re finding the problem with a ‘compromise car’

Sounds like a good idea.
What are your spring rates?
On my NC I am running 12/6 which is good as a track car.
MCA were selling springs for $50 a corner so might be cost effective change.
Do you turn the dampening down when on the street?

190 through the kink then topping out at 210 before braking at Karousell, that's all pretty spectacular. That's some going! 160 around turn 6 onto the straight..well..I give up.

You are so right! I may have shifted the compromise too far to the track.
Good idea about the springs, I’ll talk to MCA and see if the shocks need altering to cater for softer springs. I like the Ohlins because they’re matched to the softer springs already, and they’re alloy bodied which tbh I had assumed the MCA Reds were but aren’t.

I’m running the same spring rates as you. I found the recommended damper settings for track were too stiff so I run them 3 clicks front and rear for road and track.
These tyres have so much front end grip I need to dial out some understeer next time so will probably change the dampener settings.
