Seat is fixable. I agree the Sparco is a PIA to get in and out of. Maybe grab some OEM NB seats, foamectomy them and floor mount them, you'll have tonnes of room.

What suspension are you running? Maybe look into some extended top hats?

Do you still enjoy it when you drive it? I guess that's what it comes down to. The car's certainly have short comings, but they also have buckets of fun and driver interaction that no other car can match. You've got other cars for daily running about, right? If you still enjoy it, keep the MX-5 as a weekend/fun car and only use it when you're in the mood (or when you find yourself forgetting how much fun it is).

Thanks mate. How low can a nb seat go if bolted to the floor?

Yes we have a hatchback for a daily.
After looking, I can't find anything near as fun for the money.

This seat is a fixed back type bucket but with less pain when it comes to entry or indeed 'egress' for that matter.
You can get nice and low on the standard rails and the seat cushion is removable should you wish to trim it down 'foamectomy' style.
I chose this type over a sparco due to lower back issues and can vouch for it's comfort.
Red AZ1 seat is priced at $463 and you could flog the sparco to recover some cash.
Thank you, i will have a look.
I'd prefer black though :)

I met up with Reggie tonight and we swapped cars and did a few happy laps of my suburb.

I'm very impressed with the space and how comfortable the NC is. I fit perfectly and the NC chassis is clearly much stronger and more capable.
Reggie's car goes like a rocket too!

At first he followed me and then I followed him. Was good fun and kinda cool seeing my car being dríven in front of me.
When we got out Reggie said and I quote "that thing is sick!"

The NC is definitely a contender for a future ride.

Time will tell :)

Steve I have some Bride Vios 3's on Bride rails sitting in my Garage.
They are a phenomenal seat and sit low with all the adjustably you will ever need.
They are not for sale as I will stick them in Snowie but Im happy if you want to stick them in your car and drive around for a few weeks to see if you like them.
They are 10 times more comfortable than the Sparco and not hard to get in and out of at all.

Thanks Richard, that is very thoughtful of you. I would really like to try one for the drivers side. Can bring tools and come to you if you are free on a weekend.
I'm also yet to see the black toy :)

Steve I have tools at my place just pop over.
Its 10 mins to take out and put in the seat. After work one day or 1st thing Sunday mornings works for me.

Give me a day or so notice and I will get the seat unwrapped and make sure the rails are on correctly.

Been meaning to give my tombstone area a freshen up.

Image

Hazard switch was scratched and faded. HVAC sticker had seen better days and the stereo was floppy and hasn't been working for months.

Image

I replaced the HVAC, hazard switch and the head unit.

I filled the gap with a piece of plastic that I had pre painted and glued to the back of the tombstone.

I'm happy with the results and now need to learn how to setup the head unit to be one constant colour!

Decided to replace my instrument cluster bulbs with Jaycar white LED's to match my AFR guage and stereo.

Replaced all 10 bulbs for $25.20
Figured I'd do them all now so that I don't have to remove the cluster again.ImageImage

Ah yes, put it in the vent the same day I fitted the stereo.
I've also removed the race seat and roll bar.
