My custom leather seats and glove box :)

I am pretty sure I am the first one and could be the only one having this design on my car in Perth maybe even Australia, because the leather seats design was approved by me with the trimmer and the "MX-5" silver logo was found by me on internet and I asked the trimmer to stitich it on the seats. There are also a NA with this design (different seats with different style) and this logo after me, but it was made with different colour. Hopefully I would meet the owner someday.

Looks like a lot of work has gone into that stereo build Tesco. I am big into stereos but am still debating whether my MX5 needs one. How does the sub sound? I would have thought that with the amount of steel between the boot and the cabin it wouldn't have much effect?

When I first want to have a sub in my car I also have this thought like you, so I decided to build it in the passenger side and it was a completely big mistake. The sound comes out directly to the left side, I can actually tell the left is very loud and the passenger have no leg room at all.

Let's skip the cost, it is expensive anyway, because to build something in the big area its cost much cheaper and easier.

So I went to another shop, and I told them that I would like to have a sub in the back. I asked is the sub going to be big so that I can hear it? Between the fuel tank and metal can I possibily hear anything?

And he is very sure that the sound going to be good, no need a big sub, a 12" is good enough, so I let him do it, and it sounds amazing. I don't understand how or why, but he said the sub has to be in a "box" like the boot so the sound can go around instead of directly come out to your ear.

Beside when I removed all the carpets and trims, there are actually two "holes" right behind the seats, so it is not really fully seal from the boot, that is also how Mazda pull the cable from the front to the battery, and how I installed my grounding kit :D

I like what you've done with this car.

You had a clear path and you've gone with a single theme and brought it together nicely.

While I personally wouldn't go with all of the elements you've used, I like a lot of them, and so tip my hat to you for an all up classy remodel, well done.

Outstanding! :NETPOINTZ:
The blue light theme actually looks really good on your car.
And your interior....wow, just wow! The retrim looks fantastic!
The seats, the glovebox and the centre console look so good.
Are you going to retrim the interment binnacle?
Great work

How did you change the colour of your HVAC bulbs? Was it a big job?

I guess I will, but still thinking what kind of material should I use, because of the leather will dry and crack under the sun. So maybe not going to use leather.

Not a really big job, but I spent a couple days on how to remove the face of the HVAC due to there are no info about it.

First you will need to go I.L. sport and purchase the gauge, which is the black background with white picture with the icons on it. You will have to buy them from Germany, if you don't change those gauge, the light is not going to change even you put another colour.

Second, when you got your gauge, then you can use a small flat driver (wrap something on it to block the point) otherwise it will scratch the plastic. Then start from the top which is between the head unit and the HVAC. Place the flat driver in and move all the way around the frame, you will need to use a bit of strength but be be careful. Once you open a gap and you will see there are some small little hooks, adjust the frame and it will pops out. But be careful that when you pull out the frame, there are switch that connect the A/C, don't pull too hard, otherwise it will disconnect and fall inside, by then you will need to remove lots of things to bring it back.

Third, get some T5 LED on ebay and place them in. and put back everything.

I know my English is not so good, so if you don't understand I can send you some pictures or video for demonstration.

Good to see you have a thread, I saw your car about 2 weeks ago in the city; I was in front of you in the SE ;)
Now that your interior appears to be finished what do you have planned next?
