Re: the soft red, flaired sunken mx5
relax guys sh*t.
so on the week end passed, Toby and I removed the gear box and put the other one back in and covered everything possible in gear box oil:) (hair cloths road car etc etc) but all good put in the new clutch and fly wheel. took a bit working on the road sucks!!!! but we got there in the end. I weighed the fly wheel that was in the car (the one thats for sale) and it is 3.60kgs.
today i got a new key cut coz the one i had was bent... so i tested that out this arvo i tested it around the block to just to make sure the key was up to it. and on return the engine had heated up by then and the bolt at the rear that i had used to block of an old oil line from the cars past life. is now leaking which it did not do when the car was sitting there so will have to sort that out tomorrow when the car is cold.
so things still left are
diff and drive shafts. i have diff just no drive shaft well none that fit the replacement diff
brakes need bleeding.
clutch needs bleeding.
have to figure out why the horn dose not work.
and why the headlights continuously blink since i washed the engine bay:)
car still needs to be raised to correct hight (i mean legal height)
and also still need a hose to go from the rocker cover to the intake pipe the one for emissions.
im sure theres more there always is!!

1.8 or 1.6 diff?
NA8 and NB diff have the same splines, so the stub axles from an NA8 will fit an NB diff, and the half shafts from an NB fit an NA8 diff.
Only difference was the diff in the SE which had a different spline count.

not a 100% sure about the diffs both i was told where NB diffs one has green boots on each drive shaft where it connects to the diff the replacement one looks different. i have done zero research and have not really even looked at them next to each other but while i was intoxicated i tried to figure it out with nik.... but i don't remember:) he did have the answer.
also for ride height i will be dailying it so a functional ride height but still on the lower side.
so lower then craigs (blue one) and higher then tobys.
really depends on wheel tire combo that i end up with.

For me al wheels are round have a pcd and offset etc if i like them then i like them. price and brand and if there real wheels dose not far me much. And yes that's an opinion and its my opinion and my car so that's about it really just did not want a missing contest between those with fake wheels and those with out. Every one makes ugly wheels and pretty ones. i am looking for probley 15x8.5 -20 ish

Again with the retard size... Your wheel bearings are going to hate you, car will handle like crap and it will be like anchors on each corner dude. if you really are determined to go super duper wide track at least get wider wheels so you can have a more positive offset and take some load off the bearings.

Check out these guys Ty:
http://www.metalspinnersaust.com.au/cus ... ieces.html
The first ones on the page look pretty epic.
The other option is buy some rashed crappy wheels of eBay/yahoo auctions that have a decent center and just get them re-spun in the offests you want.
OR GET HURRICANES (possibly called cyclones - we were talking about them at Toby's once)!!! They'd look mad, I think they're 14x9's though, and only come in like -10, and possibly only come in 4x114.3, but I'm sure if you asked nicely you may be able to get them re-drilled/blanks.
