I think it might be time for a bit of an update, as a few things have changed in the last few months.

Ive replaced the roof, fitted an N*Power muffler, Titanium Voodoo, SE Bilstein shocks and Mazdaspeed springs (Thanks again RussellB!), Whiteline swaybars, Bennys boot, and Mazdaspeed Pedals. Ive also bought some Rennenmetal towhooks from the states, but I just have to find the time to fit them.

Im really happy with all my mods thus far. The sound is great, and I was amazed at the difference in shift feel with the voodoo.

My first serious drive with the new suspension set up was through the Royal National Park, and WOW. My old shocks had 140,000kms on them. My god what a difference. Everyone Ive taken for a ride has been blown away at the level of grip and just how flat it is through the corners.

Ill post up some more photos as soon as Ive got some free time.

I also joined the NSW MX-5 Car club, and Im really looking forward to my first official club run.

All I can say is bring on another roof-down summer :D

It's minty fresh this car.

I do believe this is a pic of your beast from the Iceberg run of recent times. It should serve as a nice before shot.

Now, let's see the 'after' shots!! *nudge nudge*

Thanks Broady and Coffeeboss!

Ok well here is another 'Before' shot, taken in early September.

She is a little dirty after driving straight from Sydney to Thredbo.

The photo isnt the best, as I dont have a DSLR or amazing photograhy skills lol.

Image

All in all it was a great drive down, but leaving the slopes at 8:30 that night after some night skiing was dangerous. They had freshly salted the roads, and there were roos everywhere. I was basically at walking pace for alot of the drive.

Ok so where are we... On Saturday I caught up with honki3rider and we went for a cruise and a miniature photoshoot. Kev, your NB is a very well set up car!

I like seeing the difference between the mazda airdam and the SE lip.

Image

Image

In terms of modifications, since my last update a little has changed.

Firstly, I managed to track down a SPMotorsport intake.

Image

Im seriously impressed with this bit of kit. It really was exactly what I was after. A little bit of extra noise but without being too much for everyday driving.
It also gives the car a noticeable increase in torque and a few extra killerwasps as well :D

Image

Secondly, I added a very important sticker :)

Image

Finally, I installed a new head unit, a Clarion cx609a.

Image

My standard head unit was beginning to skip when I went over bumps, and Ill admit that now having a USB port is a really nice feature. I chose the Clarion because it was as close as I've seen to a 'stock' appearance. I was able to match the colour of the display and keys to the existing interior lighting (well pretty damn close anyway). This unit has built in bluetooth and Ipod connectivity so thats nice to have as well. Whilst I was at it, I also had a set of Jaycar 6.5' precision splits installed. Although Im still in the process of tuning all of the equalisers, I think its sounding good. Next on the plans is sound deadening the doors, and as as always Ill keep my eyes open for some nice JDM goodies whilst Im at it.

Nice! Both '5s look great. I don't see many '5s around with that air dam, it looks pretty good.

Oops, been meaning to stick mine on myself... Though not sure if I want to put it where they want me to. Kinda tempted to put it on the rollbar somewhere to hide a scratch.

Awesome looking ride you have there - looking tough!

Personally, I think the Racing Harts make the car look the sh1t! (no, I'm not biased in any way!)

Thanks Crapweasel! Your ride is pretty hot too my friend.

Yeah I really like the Racing Harts. The first time I saw them I knew I had to have them 8)

Oh and Sliq, lay off my N*Power exhaust man! haha If you really want to convince me to lay out some coin on a new one, find me something thats nice and quite at cruising speeds but sounds like an animal when you get a heavy right foot :P
