Re: Lachstock and Four Turbo Charged Cylinders ['04 NB SE]
I don't think Dann will work weekends for me. The plan is to drive down leave the car there for a few days and come back to drive home on a Friday. It's going to happen, and soon. It really has to happen, the car is safe and all, but it's not running as nice as I'd want and seeing as I drive it every day, it needs to be finished.

Yeah, Dann is very helpful and the remote tune got me to the point I didn't need to drive with my laptop. I wouldn't ask him to give up a weekend for me, I'll be heading down to see him very soon.
I won't be staying long though, just drive down on a Friday and fly out that evening. Then reverse a week later. They'll be long days, but considering I bought the car in Melbourne and drove it home, I think I can manage. I think the drive home will be more fun than the drive down
Thanks for you thoughts in PM a few weeks ago. I ended up not making the decision I thought I would If you're free on one of those Fridays it would be cool to say hi and see your new Lotus.

Go the Pacific Hwy, despite the roadworks it is still faster than the New England.

Not sure that will be the fastest route... still lots of long roadworks on the freeway around Coffs/Taree I think. But don't let that stop you
edit: Oh maybe still the fastest... Magpie will have travelled it more recently than I.

I'm going to be hungry before I hit Grafton! But I'll keep them in mind when I get that far if I need to take on or let out fluids

Ipswich to Grafton is a nice 'drive' and easily done even with kids in the car Plus the new section from Byron Bay is open so much quicker now through there.
I would avoid stopping in PMQ as it is now a detour. Good news that the new section north of Kempsey is open and this saves a lot of time.
There is another great Truckie stop on the South side of Newcastle.

I'm not going south of Newcastle for a truck stop!
Should be an easy drive, and I'll see what economy a full tank St cruise returns. I'm looking forward to meeting Dann in the flesh too.

Take the long way home, from Newcastle up Thunderbolts way to Walcha then back down the Oxley Highway toward Port Macquarie.
