Nope but scaled back. Ill holesaw some 50mm holes either side of the 'mouth' and just run 1 hose with the pads and that should do it, that will be poor aerodynamically but wont compromise the cooling, Ill also have a reroute by then if I can be nothered making one :P

Whens the next track day people will be at? Either WP or EC?

Looking good Dann.

I dont know how much quicker an MX5 can go at that track but there must be another 1.5-2 seconds in new tyres, brake pads and no fuel surge?

Theres much more time in the car.
Just entering every corner 5km/h faster. The car had enough grip for it, I tested a couple corners on warm down laps and I wasnt pushing the grip levels of the car past about 85-90%.

As I said , I have a lot of learning to do. I also havent got any corners at all right yet, My lines are still very poor, as is my braking points.

I would hope that a 1:10 is achievable with new tyres brakes and fuel in it, along with lots more practice. I reckon if I went this weekend without chaging anything, but without surge, I could run a high 12 pretty easy. I really do think theres an easy second and a half in another days practice, I dropped a consistant second a run on sunday. Literally 19 one session, 18 the next, 17 the next, down to 14.
So given that fact, I dont think dropping another 1.5 in a whole day is an unreasonable goal, and getting into the 12s, given the tyres and stock brakes is pretty respectible.

All I really know is that the car is a LOT quicker than I am, and that I have a lot to learn :D

Thanks for the encouragement.

I'd agree with this. Mark is in the 9s with a heavier car with similar (less?) power than yours, so no reason you shouldn't be able to get into the 10s

Seat time is the best mod but improvement in laptimes is not linear. The faster you go the harder it gets to shave each tenth. You'll have to work hard to get to the 10s. That's not saying you won't do it, I reckon you will, but it's worth looking at the time and thinking people like Hellmun and Guran have put in to get to the times they do now.

Hence why I highlighted the 'along with lots more practice' .....

Hoping its dry in October when the Vics descend on Wakefield... I've got a 13.89 to try and beat hey Phil...

You'll need to do better than that, Russ. A couple of guys beat me last weekend. Just drive the nuts off it and you should be right though.

Yeah I know they aren't linear...

But at the second session Id dropped 1.4, second last I dropped 1.1 and very last another 0.9. So another 1.5 to get me into the 12s should be pretty doable with proper brake pads and no surge.
Id be very happy with a mid 12 (another 2 secs) by the end of next clubday. From there its 25-30PSI on a 3071R and some slicks.
Ill do aero afterwards.

I kid

Any questions please dont hesitate to ask.

When moving from the puny OEM coil packs to the Toyota COPs, does the more complete combustion lean out the mixture and require any subtle fattening of the fuel table to compensate?

To be honest I havent done a pre and post log properly yet, but my map is about half a point too fat anyways, so a little bit of lean will only help :D

My car is 1050kg without me in it plus maybe %25 of a fuel tank. Plus a dyno proven 90kw atw which I'm pretty sure with E85, cams and COPS would be a few wasps less than Dan. With the weight reduction I'd guess dan's NA6 is in the 950-1000kg (eastern creek has scales if you want to check) region not being caged? So race pads, brake bias adjuster and young well looked after set of semi's should be 1:08's to 1:09's when you start pushing it's limits. Your car should be pretty comparable to a 2F car except for being a bit underbraked and they've been into 1:07's. 10's will be a temporary goal once you learn the track and have the car setup right. Unfortunately those are two time consuming things and tend to involve as Phil said a bit of a wall where you grind down. It's still fun though as you make progress down. I've been doing it 4 years + and it's still happening.... That said with someone telling you how far you can go my mate Tim was doing 1:13's in my car his first day in it having dríven Andrews car once before at Wakefield with no other race experience... just because both Andrew and I could tell him exactly where he could go faster from the video on the day.

:? Isn't a stock NA6 barely 950kg?
