When you get those chunky tyres, you will need your guards rolled.

as an aside, i might scrap getting my garage vary front lip repaired and get a completely different front bar altogether 8) what i'm still thinking about now is whether the front bar will match the rims, or vice versa.

How bad is the GV damage. Want to sell your GV lip cheap?

Title: Good things come in small packages
19.04.10

I am cutting back on my spending on the car. And by my standards, I've cut back a fair bit. A lot of the OEM parts are congesting my very limited shoebox sized shed - sway bars, OEM wheels, shocks, intake. Not too sure if i want to sell them or not just in case i ever sell my car one day :|

On another note, I snapped up a shorty antenna:

Image

It includes the manual base, adaptor and antenna. Purchased it from yahoo auctions for $59 AUD. This has long been on my modification list. mx5parts have the kit to do this conversion for electric antennas but it costs over $100 AUD for it, exclusive of shipping  so to me, this was a good bargain with about $60-$70 saved. Couldn't be anymore happier.

I am still waiting for the hubcentric rings to come in  I emailed the seller that I hadn't received the first set so i kindly asked him to send me another set. The cam sensor should be in anytime now. My flat battery should be recharged by hopefully the end of today. The guy at the shop told me on Saturday afternoon that the battery would be ready to be collected this morning. But when I called through this morning, he told me he forgot to charge it  ffs... i won't be going back to him for my batteries. he had also told me he would check with supercharge to see if i can have it replaced under warranty. he clearly hasn't made any calls if he has totally forgotten about it  #end rant

Keep the rims original. Don't mess with the factory finish.

Title: Ben Sherman
20.04.10

I called my brother today to see if he can collect my battery from Bankstown Auto Electrics - he did just that, and advised me that a parcel was sitting at home for me. Good. I then gave Australia Post a call to ask them if there were any other parcels for me; the operator kindly confirmed that there was  Excellent.

After rushing home to open up the goodies..

Inside diameter of 54.1

Outside diameter of 60.1

I'm glad there weren't any hiccups (e.g. received the wrong size). I can finally rest assured that my wheels won't loosen up over time.

Now for the second parcel..

Image

Come here, you smeazley little runt.

Image

I am hoping this is the culprit for my car choking. What i will do is, wait for the car to completely warm up, hope the car actually chokes, pullover to the side of the road, and swap the existing camshaft angle sensor with this one. Hopefully the car will then drive as smooth as silk then.

Until next time..

Title: She's Alive
24.04.10

Finally! Some sunlight! I was afforded the opportunity this afternoon to reinstall the car battery. The car switched on fine. Now. For that pesty camshaft angle sensor. After quickly filling up my car, i took the car for a 10 minute fanging. After I couldn't get the car up to heat so the car can stall, i sadly made my way home. But then, the last corner before i turn into my street, the car splutters and dies. . Just what i was hoping for. I tried starting the car 2-3 more times, but she would start up, the revs would catch to 200-300, then die. I removed my socket set from the boot and quickly changed over the sensors, and heaven behold, the car ran perfectly fine. That made my day.

Now.. for some eyecandy. I haven't gotten around to cleaning the car yet, but who gives a %^&*, i'll celebrate that my car is once again in rare form.
