The cam cover is two pack paint....shall be interesting to see how it goes where the exhaust manifold runners go near it. I'll be sure to post a pic if its a failure :|

I always give my car a good hard shove one i get it up on the stands to see it its gunna fall over......hasn't yet ....touch wood.

i re-located my boost gauge in front of the cluster aswell..... i was kicking it to much as i got out where it used to be just above the fuse hatch..... I dont like to have gauges stuck up on the dash so this was one of the few places to put it that would not require holes in the dash..... i made a bracket that come up from in between the cluster surround and top stalk cover.

Yeah i have been busy driving the thing and adding things here and there.....

Oil cooler
Bride lowmax bucket seat

I also tried to run a different size tyre to get some better fittment.....and less camber......that failed.....note to other drivers 195x45x16 will rub EVERYWHERE! if your thing is running offset and is low.

I'll add pics of the mods soon.....

pics from drift practice at winton......

Here is the Bride low max on custom rails.

Image

Image

This is the duct that goes to my oil cooler, it flares out and covers the whole face of the core and is hard up against it so no air can divert around it....

Image
The oil cooler is mounted in front of my driver side wheel.....

I also ducted up the Intercooler/radiator with core flute to make sure air goes through not around......

Top thread, I'll go through and read the lot later. How much lower is the Bride on custom rails than stock?

I think i sit about 70mm lower than the standard seat......The steering wheel now impedes my vision of the end of the bonnet

makes the car seem even more like a go kart 8)

I want to get more grip so i can slide faster and get more laps out of my tyres. May need to hand beat the guards and get sway bars/bushes to get the best results.
That said it already slides faster than my fully setup 180sx i used to have......its just a little of the pace/line of the top cars.....(sighs) more money to spend :|

Hey man, thanks. I should be driving........just had a few hiccups :|

My clutch has started slipping after the last drift day and after a bit of reserch on the american forums there seems to be general agreement that the diameter of the NA clutch just isn't enough for the amount of torque the 1.8 turbo setups can produce.

A friend of mine recomended "queensland clutch services" to re-spring and upgrade my original 1.8 oem clutch.....

So a quick email and $450 later here it is called their "hi torque button" level clutch.
Image
I'll install that later in the week so its a big rush before the drift event on sat at winton. :|
Image

I have also run into the problem of the standard hand brake not being able to lock up the rears anymore after the cable stretched at the last drift day, i had to adjust it up 4 times on the day, so something hectic needs doing.........Hydraulic hand brake here we come!
Image
The slave cylinder i got from merridian motorsport it was under $30.....not sure exact how much...
Image
The lines i just bent some tig wire into the shape i wanted them to be then took it to BETTER BRAKES and the made em up for $25
Image

Image

Image
There aint alot of room in the old mx5 for a slave cylinder so i decided to mount it in the tunnel under the car... Just means fiddly work getting the clearance on the push rod.....
Image

Image

Image

I'll try update after i test before the weekend.....other wise next weekish
