ok. so i took yesterday off to arrange getting my wheels on. but ran into a little obstacle.
hubcentric rings.
the meisters i had bought, i thought the seller would attach them to the wheels. but turns out he didn't. that minge.
i contacted all my local tyre shops and none had the size as 60.1 - 54.1 was a fairly unusual size.
i contacted work wheels australia and they wanted $100 for them, delivered (even though they were sydney based). next.
i contacted jdmconcept and leo wanted $80 pick up, but 2 weeks wait. these were also the genuine work hubcentric rings.
having pondered on it for a short time, and thinking $20-$25 for plastic rings was fairly steep, i searched ebay UK and found the ones i needed in alloy, for $35ish AUD delivered. what a bargain! i quickly hit the "buy it now x 4" button and made immediate payment of them via paypal.
fingers crossed they materialise in 1-2 weeks.
before i put the wheels on, i wanted to ensure that no one will pinch them. you'd be very surprised how many people go around jacking up cars, placing them on barrels and pinch wheels (i haven't seen it happen but its happened to someone i know). i've been emailing Brian Good-Win from goodwin racing. his website is selling the mcgard spline set (16 lugs with locking key) for $69 USD. for a further $15 USD, it would be posted to my door via priority mail. this ended up being about $95 AUD. pretty good for some solid nuts.
they aren't your typical hex nuts, but look a bit... spikey.
i didn't realise getting aftermarket rims would be such a headache
but you live and you learn.

Do a test fit on the wheels too, just to make sure you don't need your guards rolled.

thanks guys.
very much looking forward to it.
as an aside, i'll be downgrading my suspension to super streets with some cash adjustment
need to scrape up some money for other ventures

There's always other ventures happening. And what would these other ventures be hummm? Can't be non-car related can it?

There really isn't anything else to do to the car worth hyping I think. If its just turbo/super then there's no point hyping unless you're going to make 250kw+. So what is it? 20b, 13b, RB26, 2jzns, F20 that 20valve thing toybota make?
Downgrading suspension?? who'd do such a thing Won't you need it after your "projecT"?
