Re: billybunters - from a bmw z4 to a mx5 se
well...........I have finished now and ready for the very first inspection. rarely do you alfa/fiat number plates on a jap car.
last but not least I decided to polish just the bonnet.....nice shine
number plates swapped over so this time very serious
passenger side completed
and after the 1500 hand cut I decided to just try a bit of polish on the bonnet to check the shine

Billy, I love reading your posts, with the random twists and turns, you certainly are fearless with what you take on and tackle much that many would not ....
It will be a sad day if / when you sell your car and take your stories elsewhere... if you end up on another forum, can you post where on here? Love following your adventures!

All parties to a 'negotiation' can cause frustration. I work on the premise that you remain respectful, courteous and honest in the interaction. Unfortunately you will get people who lose sight of these fundamentals and that is both disappointing and can be aggravating.
When selling something it is reasonable to anticipate there will be some people who have quite different expectations to yourself. Sometimes their expectations are appropriate and your own are out of kilter, sometimes it will be the other way around.
However when selling something you need to be prepared for a whole range of experiences, that is simply the reality of the situation. I love selling something when it has been valued by me and I know the buyer will value it similarly. In those instances I am inclined to modify my selling price for the mutual benefit of the appreciation of the thing being sold. Where the transaction is less emotional, then I am objective and have other criteria as when I will sell an item to the buyer, mainly being the price I want for the item.
The key to me is always about how I respond to the behaviours of others - I choose and own my attitude and my reactions. So when the experience is less than satisfactory I operate on the basis to move on from that experience and not let it take up anymore space in my life.
I hope you find a good buyer for your car billybunter and I am sure there is one just around the corner because I think someone will appreciate what you are selling.

Yes I sell new and used cars. I have bought and sold more than 100 mx5's and never judge paint condition/quality from online photos

What We Should Not Talk About
Politics, Religion, Sex, Personal Attacks and Slandering Businesses are the main topic's to steer well clear of.
A buyer will typically try and drive the price down, a seller will typically try and defend a higher price.
That doesn't mean things need to turn into personal attacks, thanks to those forum members who tried to defend the good nature of this forum.
Learn to agree to disagree and move on, life is too short.
I deleted posts, I HATE doing it, sorry to those who had valid points/posts but best we clear the slate and let everyone cool down.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

BB, you do great work and seem to be on a gold mine with the birds. If I had the funds I would've snapped up your car in whatever colour; red, white or silver.
Wish I could generate cash like you do. Maybe I could be your bird breeder apprentice

Re: billybunters - from a bmw z4 to a mx5 se
Yep! as the sun sinks slowly in the western sky it’s been pretty close to three months since I last dropped a few threads here. But saying that though I have been very busy.
Autumn has gone and winter is upon use. Not much if anything has happened to the SE as it has sat silently – not a movement- since it failed to sell – but that was then as this is now…LOL so I will get into it as I am sure you’d love to hear all the juicy bits!
Well let’s face it – there is no easy money to be made on this forum so I have been playing about with different projects. …some useless and some worthwhile!
The abarth
I decided to remove the dull black side striping and switch to the other optional color red. dealership wanted $2000 for this alone when I purchased the car but I knocked it over for using usa stripes for a mere $70. While at it I colour coded the wheels and front fender venting too. That move alone I think gave it a bit more eye appeal and a more go faster look. Although it’s not a slow car by all means.
The SE
Well that bit of jap crap..LOL has just sat for 3 months and hasn’t even been started. One day I got a bit bored and decided to side stripe it too. this time in black. That actually bought the colour out a bit so I would say it “pops” a bit more now. surprisingly the paint still looks pretty good to the naked eye and although I was a bit light on the clear coating as I only used a litre –the paint job or clear coat has held up remarkable well.
I have no real reason to drive it as I prefer the abarth anyway but should things go slack and if I get bored- I will use it as a canvas of inspiration to do-another re-paint. Keeps me on the ball and keeps me away from attacking the abarth’s exterior
The birds
I have been busy in this area and bred a few…LOL. not that many say roughly 150 . I recall the incidents earlier this year and that guy – pipeline pete- who rolled most of you down the garden path with the RF hardtop crap. Unlike that tosser I can actually say –3 months since my last entry not only could I buy a brand new RF in feather power alone I could request it fully loaded with $10,000 in options…LOL and that’s a fact! plus still have a fistful of feathers left. But that won’t happen as I don’t really like them as much as the bikes
from this
to this - just one of a small display
The bike
This new release bike is due out in Australia in july. Told the dealer I’d like one. …price $10,000. So I cashed 8 of my feathered friends a few days back and the end result ……this bike for free!
plus a jacket...air bag for an old bag...lol Require a new jacket for the ride….well that was $1200 and the end result another bird gone.
Lookin back four months ago I was complaining – yes complaining I couldn’t sell a car..lol times have changed. I know some may read or lets face it – quite a lot may read - and become envious of success and I can help you there for a mere $3000 plus outlay – but the big question is – would you be happy…lol
Well I’m not - as I am still 50 birds off a 200 bird breeding program…LOL
now take this into account too if you can't handle my success and have nothing nice to say -best save face and say nothing! one day I could buy your car with a handful of feathers, scary thought too.....not even a handful!

:
The red accents and rims really make the car "pop".
You need to park it in front of the dealership, leave it there for an hour or so while you get a relaxing coffee and watch to see how many of them and other customers come to check it out, then go in and hear their comments because it'll look better than the models they have on the lot.
Post this pic on a FIAT forum - I bet you'd get a few requests to do exactly what you've done here, easy money for something you're already doing anyway.
Don't worry about dying, worry about not living!

thanks lokiel
I thought for about a $100 outlay it was worth the effort.
