BB, sounds like your back has improved - hopefully you can spend more time painting it white this time.

I was only thinking this over today-while looking inside the door jams you'd have to be a real idiot to destroy a paint job as good as this one and it appears.... I am that idiot!

back problem is still there so I will have to take this one carefully or it could end up a basket case

red was probably not going to be a stayer anyway. back 10 years ago I bought a red na from Sydney and paint it yellow

Should have left it originally white and then put the red paint on my car!

when I get it rubbed back and that will take some time mainly because who put the paint on did it properly  and I can't water blast it off - I will decide if I should go all out and bring out the angle grinder

Not completely a bad thing, as that should help duplicating the quality finish you achieved with the red paint job.

just using the wet rub180 grit its pretty hard work on the cut back, I might go buy some 120 and see how that goes. might be good to score up the surface a bit so I can get through the paint  the go 240 and higher later

the flared in the above photo are not mine -just something I thought about adding if I went back to a re=spray. but it would involve cutting both front and rear guards to add then, plus a bit of drilling too

i'd also have to consider I would not go any bigger than the 15" wheels for ride quality but would go wider wheels. but DEFINATELY would no lower it in any way as i had enough of being in a tip dray in that crappy LOTUS

Looks like back to re-spray from the rub down so far. Those flares are a point of no return mod, so definitely require a lot of thought and a plan of where the car's heading before committing.

OMG what are you doing?
Didn't you just finish a repaint?
Was the paint dry?
