He should paint the scorpion In the same colour to match the wheels.
maybe he should try his hand at a wrap. I'm sure his result would be nothing short of perfect.

Re: billybunters - from a bmw z4 to a mx5 se
dunno about the roof but it's a thought and the scorpions on the wheel caps would look good in red...that a future thought. at the moment I've run out of paint.
the paint which is now on the car is another brand of plasti-dip called CAR 8. got it off ebay for $8 a can plus postage. compared to the actual plasti-dip which is about $25 to $30 a can.
the red was hard to apply took a bit of effort to cover the job. maybe going straight over black plastic and charcoal wheels didn't help either. the black was really pretty good to apply. what I did like was very little to none -paint splatter. plasti -dip will splatter especially if it's cold outside -which it was at under 10 C!
the ABARTH sign was actually done in plasti-dip. had no choice really. i wanted to do it red but the red is a weak colour in the can and takes many coats to do the job. after the normal one minute can shake I let it sit in hot water for 5 minutes prior to painting...it still splathered paint about. reason being the plasti dip is a much more thicker rubbery paint. very good on cover but far more expensive.
so to sum up the CAR8 plastic paint I got off ebay site and the seller carmakeup-au 4 cans for $29 plus $9 postage. i purchased 4 cans for the price of 1.5 cans of plasti dip and going on the spray results with the matte black i would highly recommend it. the red not so for where i used it on the Fiat but over a panel it may work a lot better. other colours are available from the seller too
overall its a pretty cheap slap over of paint. looking at the bonnet say 20 minutes to mask up and paint straight over after the usual clean up with grease/wax remover and 2 cans of the car 8 paint. so you could say 20 minutes for $20
if i had little to do i bet i could spray the whole car in the matter black pressure pack and it would probably look alright too
the main reason for the bonnet spray is this - in about two weeks i am going to point the ABARTH straight out through Bourke and run a few days inland trip. i will be on dirt roads for sure and the dip will help stop stone chips. the Fiat sits low to the road like the MX5 and just my last trip to NT collected a good 200 chips to the front end of the SE. no doubt the majority from the road trains. anyway that was then and they are all gone now. plus the colour too
if your interested in trying out a bit of plastic paint on your car which if you don't like it you can just peel off later. I've done it on a brand new one so there no big deal and its a good cheap option to see if you like what you've done -prior to getting it done on a permanent basis like spray painting .
just thinking i should spray that MX5 matte black not the Fiat

heres the item number to where I bought the red/black plastic paint off eBay 192226883969 I would try this stuff first in any colour prior to buying the more expensive plasti -dip. its far easier to apply - cost less - and looks good too.

Probably not an issue in your case BB (you'd just re-spray it) but I wonder how well the cheaper stuff comes off or if it leaves staining or anything? Though that said, I've also read that the "proper" plasti-dip can be a pita to remove and can leave staining sometimes.

Just been reading up on it. sounds like it would be the ducks guts for plastic bumpers. But it has a Matt finish. Thats ok you can add some c;ear sh*t on it which makes it glossy. Also Colours are limited. Unfortunately not an option for Patchy.

I've got pkastidip on my guard. It's gonna take solvents to remove, it won't peel.

i'd say you may have possible applied too thin of a coat. you can/will have trouble with the plasti-dip if its not applied heavy.
ok - it's only a mere 8C outside today and cold and windy - not ideal weather to try and get this stuff off. I decided to check on one area just to see how it comes off. considering how cold it is - I am happy with the end results. remember too this is the CAR8 version of the plastic dip...not the genuine plasti-dip.
overall pretty happy!
now I would not recommend using RED dip for stripes on a white car.
here's the video of me removing it.....just for you

Re: billybunters - from a bmw z4 to a mx5 se
I gave the cheaper metho idea a trial run on this car8 product and unfortunately its a - no go! therefore i'd still recommend the plasti-dip dissolver as the best removal product for the job.
using the metho might get results but after a minute playing about adding metho -waiting - more metho again on the work area it just would not budge. I waited another 10 minutes and tried again. it was starting to soften but still hard to get it to remove.
in my case i'd rather spend the $$$ and get the results
but I am always spending
