If you want to wait a few weeks mine may could be finished and hopefully the solution to my ITB's and Pipercross filters will be revealed. Note mine will have ducted air as I agree with sailaholic that trumpets are required and socks are not the solution. Also thanks to koop21 for his PM that he has now shared.

Hopefully it will be ready by 09/09/13, but it is not likely at the moment :(

So how many MX5's in QLD with ITB'S?

I know my setup is a little different (nb vs na) but I got my air box to fit by splitting it in 2 lengthwise along the seam where the factory glued it together. I had to GENTLY heat it a few times in the oven and pry it apart. A hair dryer or hot air gun might also work.

Due to various things I haven't worked out how to keep it together once its in the car, but I was thinking a seal from Clark rubber and maybe some elastic from the boat shop or gluing some latches on to keep it all together. If I ever get there, will post pix :-)

I may have neglected to mention, that my brake proportioning valve has been unbolted, massaged and now supported by zip tie. I have to lean on this and other bits to get my air box to fit.

Plan is to remote mount the brake to give some more space for the Pipercross air box. Also leaning towards a remote brake bias in the cab and remove the brake proportioning valve altogether.

The engine build is progressing. Bottom end has paused while awaiting a replacement main bearing support plate that will allow all the main caps to be tied in also means a different sump than was planned. Top end is progressing and cams getting dialled in. Harness is being built. I will pop into MX5 Plus on 17/08 to see its progress and get some more photos.

The comments are like turning on the TV, it just reminds me how ignorant the human race is, and the ones who are like that are into stock POS's with 5k rims and roofracks, just browse their pages..

Well I made the decision to not have the car ready for the 9/9 track day. After discussions with Jason and Danny I agreed to give them time to do a proper wiring job and remove all the non used wiring as a result of the new ECU etc. Also in the discussions were plans for 2014 however the plans do not include any more modifications to the engine or outside rather what I plan to do with it.

The engine has its ITB's fitted and in between customers Jason is finishing it off. Plan is to get the old engine out next week and start the wiring and fitting parts to the new engine. My philosophy on this build is to have it done right the first time so I'm not fuss on how long it takes. Plus it is a learning curve for all involved so why not take your time :) At least if anybody wants to do the same (or similar) all the hard work is done and the results predictable.

I did a booster and master delete today. Heaps more space for inlet.

Brake performance has suffered slightly :-P. Handbrake is no where near as effective as hydraulics

Thanks Sailaholic, more to think about ... Did you change the pivot point as well?

Haha, sorry was being stupid. Car is becoming semi daily (train most days) and the booster wasn't holding vacuum so I've removed it to change the booster to a working on. As such the Park brake is all that is connected.

I thought that and was going to ask if your delete was as per the photo and you got rid of the front brakes entirely :)

Whilst the engine bay is not completed yet there is signs that something is happening :)

Air con has been removed (and never going back in), engine just needs the remote oil filter, the external oil pressure control and the accumulator plumbing installed and it is ready to go. Now just sorting out the wiring and the air box. Engine start date to be determined as somebody is off snowboarding and I hope that that person does not injure himself. Current plan is to test run it at Morgan Park on 26/10/13 on Federal FZ201's (soft).
