Thanks, the video quality is not too bad for a cheap camera. I will have to see how fast it goes if i use 2nd gear around the corners instead of third. I am using third as a kind of traction control. But as you can hear it is a long way off the power band out of the corners and takes a few seconds take start to go again.

I went to sandown today with the wrx club and got a 1:24.7 in the practise. It was 6 degrees and still a bit foggy. I think the car was making more power. As the day warmed up my times got worse. Average good lap was 1:25.2.
If i get water/methanol will that replicate the same cool charge throughout the day as the cold morning?
The clutch slipped again in the morning as it did last time there in the cold. Meaning the car is making more power. And also my times are faster on the fist lap of every session.

TURBO NA6 CLUBRACER - 1:53 at P.I.........
I managed to get a p.b of 1:53.3 at P.I. It was great to look at the results and see that i got 3rd out of all of the 93 cars that where there on the day. The commodore just pipped me for 2nd. Driving in the wet sure does teach you how to drive smooth. It was a good day, and finished with "bbq" at peter and pam's.
Since last time there when i got a 1:55.5, the car has had; power steering removed, rear wing, front splitter, sway bar on the front, no rear sway bar, coilovers all round, some more weight removed and new bushes installed. So it has made a difference, on a full dry track it will be even more evident.

TURBO NA6 CLUBRACER - 1:53 at P.I.........
I got a rollcage welded in last week. Just gotta paint it and put a harness eye bolt on. The hardtop is one of the new ones painted red.

TURBO NA6 CLUBRACER - new rollcage welded in.
Hi Lightyear
probably saw you at PI, I was there in my Red NA6 with very ordinary road tyres. I've since put R specs on with Wilwood brakes. Took it out to Sandown at the weekend. What a huge difference. Are you off to Winton?
Just wondering who did your cage.

The cage was done at fabraications. I am sure the R spec tyres make a difference, i have never done sprints on standard road tyres. No, i can't make winton unfortunately. I booked to go to qld before the sprint day was confirmed.

Hi
I was talking to Ray at Sandown at the weekend, he told me he had just put a cage in an MX5 "Must have been yours". Ray has just finished the cage in our Xsara. We had a big roll over in Targa Wrestpoint this year and wrote our car off so we're rebuilding a new one for next year. I'll get Ray to do the cage in the MX5 but I want to do the CF roof on it first so we can design and fit accordingly.
Enjoy Qld
Cheers Chris

The c.f roof does allow a lot more room in the area you need it most, the sides. That's the first place that will hit in a roll over. The cage can be bent out towards the very extreme outer edge as there is nothing in the way. I also cut away the seatbelt towers too. And yes that would have been my car he was talking about.

Sandown was as enjoyable as ever especially toward the end of the day. I couldn't help but to look up the quater mile times for the audi rs4, as i went past him easily down the front straight. It is good for 12.8 1/4's. I might have to take mine for a run one day, should be good for a low 12 maybe. I might be getting a spool for it soon as i get the single wheel spin in all the corners now. The left rear was reading up to 20 deg hotter than the rest of the tyres due to wheel spin, even though i was trying to keep it to a minimum.

Last tune was 143rwkw's at AVO. I think it was in 3rd gear. It would be pretty light too.

It's been a while, maybe in the next couple of weeks. With this nicer weather maybe we could go up mt dandenong.
