100% agreed :D

Went to the nearest Falken dealership (Marks and Wallings City Discount Tyres) and had the tyres fitted on the wheel this morning. People generally say RPF1's are light, but I didn't realise how light they are until I picked up the SSR Star Shark, also the tyre fitter was surprised when he picked it up.

Without tyres mounted on, RPF1 weighed 4kg per wheel while SSR Star Shark weighed 5.5kg each:

Front wheel bearing replacement next, then it should be ready for another track day with proper tyres :)

A while ago I got myself DDMWorks radio surrounds to put 3 gauges with intention of knowing what the car is doing.

When it comes to electronics and wiring, I like tidy. I mounted 3 VDO gauges on the radio surrounds; oil temperature, oil pressure and water temperature. All wired up nicely with some overkill Deustch DTM and DT connectors I had lying around.

And here it is all wires accounted for and ready to be connected:

Also made a little adapter to tap into dimmer circuit, so factory wiring remains unmolested and hacked (no splices, tapes, cuts) and still the brightness can be adjusted with the knob next to steering column.

It plugs into AC control panel lighting circuit like so:

I've routed the 3 sensor wires through the grommet the throttle cable passes through:

Might replace the gauges and senors with full sweep (stepper) gauges in the future, but for now at least I'll know the car's overheating while on the track.
