Re: markwid's NB8B
Ah, sure Bryan. I used this instructions below to fix that.
I take it you have removed the centre console and couldn't find the springs somewhere misplaced in there? I was lucky to find both springs in there once I removed the centre console - just had to straighten out some paperclips and form the ties. Both doors working perfectly now.
Also, bonus points - I found 3 $2 gold coins in there as well. Hahaha.

Car is riding high on stock worn-out suspension; can't wait for new coilovers to get here.

I love receiving packages, especially if they are mods for the car. LOL.
Got them coilovers today.

Re: markwid's NB8B
So, these came out. Bit of a surprise that it is a 98 stock suspension instead of matching to the 2001 car. No wonder it felt more than tired.

This went in. Ahhh, much better. Will let it settle for a few weeks before some final adjustments and probably wheel alignment again.

Mmm coilovers haha they look nice and shiny. Nice ride height Im hopefully getting mine on coilovers soon so it doesn't look like a 4x4 in the rear any more and to give it an even more go kart feel.

Big improvement. Is that the height you want it at or you going to go higher/lower?

Yep, agree it is a good improvement, not just from a looks alone. Those old suspension was too uncomfortable for me given how crapped out some of Sydney roads are.
Might just go a smidgeon lower I think but will see after a few weeks of settling in.
But won't go crazy low as I don't want too much trouble with speed humps, driveways and carpark ramps.

Marcus, did they have to use the old top hats or was it a complete bolt in?

Yes, Dave had to reuse the old top hats. No issues, they were in good conditions anyway.

Re: markwid's NB8B
So, a couple of days back, another driver on the road pulled up beside me and kindly let me know that my right brake light is out.
A bit of research later, I bought the combination brake/tail light bulb W21/5W from my local autobarn. Read up some notes from the net and got started this morning.
1. Remove the trim on rear panel. It had these fiddly plastic fasteners that I attacked with a small screwdriver. Remove 4 of them to fold the trim out of the way to access the area behind the taillights.

2. Remove 2 small nuts that held the light assembly to the metal frame.
3. Remove the screw at the top of taillight on the black plastic trim. Pop out the light unit, all the sockets will be exposed.

4. Undo the outermost socket with quarter turn anti-clockwise. Yank the blown bulb out and snap the new bulb in (used paper towel so that finger oil did not get in the bulb).

5. Reverse steps to put everything back in place.

6. Blown bulb on the left, spare new one on the right in photo.

Most recent photo of the NB. Coilovers height finalised after lowering the rear a little bit more to reduce the rake. Not crazy low but this is the height I am comfortable with.
Next stop is to get wheel alignment done again.
