Plan less, drive more... All about the feel

Looking great, it's really in the details mate.

How much did the door seals set you back?

About $60 each.

The old ones were pretty rooted and sitting up, but still got them off without busting the clips which for whatever reason my new seals were missing a few of...

Wouldn't mind new door seals to replace the ones with overspray all over them, guessing they're exponentially more expensive though.

Today I travelled to the nether regions of my car on a quest for cleanliness and also soft top removal. (95% cleaning, 5% removal...)

Josh gave me a bit of a hand with the soft top, much appreciated.

Met some rad guys on thursday night. I do 4-day weeks with fridays off so I'll try to be at the Garage every thursday if I can!

I also went for the weekly Apollo Bay pilgrimage yesterday. Rad lunch in Lorne, saw a cute lil echidna on the side of the road on the way back and spent 1/2 a tank of fuel the best way you can!

Of course I left the SD card for my camera in the card reader so no shots from the drive :(

Boring bloody servicing next weekend, might order some cool stuff through the week to tide me over

It was great to put a face to a name Jace.

The car is looking mighty good. Is that normal for the little patches of rust to be near where the rain rail was?

Normal? I suppose so! I think I'll repaint that area somewhere down the track because some of it will be visible with the frame back in there from what I can tell.

For now that rust won't do any real harm.

it just occurred to me now that the title of your build thread is pretty much the mirror opposite of how mine is going hahaha

Did you check under the carpet or in the screw box? I can't imagine it having gone too far. Pretty sure I left it on the parcel shelf!!

Well this is how vast my parcel shelf is now, and more importantly my car will cease to smell like a tent!

I hadn't seen any decent pictures of car's with no soft tops but with carpet, so figured i'd post some to show what to expect back there!

Love it! I must undertake that cleaning task. My car can smell pretty yucky at times.

Thanks guys, NA's have their own smell and I hate it.

I have just been driving the piss out of this thing, getting my RWD fix.

Literally haven't used my Golf since I purchased the MX5!

Feel, looks and performance improved.

Updates:
- wheels in from YAJ via rupewrecht
- new RE001's fitted to said wheels
- YSR coilovers in thanks to wholesale suspension
- guards rolled by me with Joshes heat gun!

ImageImage

ImageImage

Still have some tweaking to do... but overall I'm stoked with the wheels, fitment, tires and ride quality!

I'm growing increasingly unhappy with the cars rough bodywork, so I'm considering an upgrade of sorts. Don't feel like spending more money on this car for now.
