Keep us posted, I want to see you kicking all sorts of V8 ass...
Colour wise, I think that any stock MX5 colour would be the go, as it'll make the V8 heads think differently about our cars.
If you want to reallly make brains explode, go for British Racing Green - a colour associated these days with a rather more relaxed time of open top motoring, regardless of the truth!

as for colour, yeah I'd agree with the others in saying a factory (metallic) colour would really work great.
my choice would be Radiant Ebony from the late NBs and early NCs, it's a seriosuly sexy colour.

yeah im not too sure about all these colours... My spray painter tells me to leave it to him and I will like what he does... he knows what I like and dont like so I might trust him with it.... maybe...
