yeah we got the cage about 4mths ago, just havent had time to put it in.
i am definately looking to lower the car soon, just not sure whether to got some stiffer or lower springs or coilovers. but being a poor uni student i think coilovers will be too expensive.
the bilstein shocks are still fantastic for ride and handling, but the springs are a bit ordinary. adam had some kings springs in his AE86 and after about 18mths they felt really flat and did not respond well.

stitching the fabric around the parcel shelf will be easy, i have a sewing machine and did textiles and design at school, neatening up the fabric wont be a problem.
all we did was cut a small spilt down and wrapped it around the bars, and even just doing that its looks fairly neat.

Lisa, contact tbro about your suspension, he has just put fatcat motorracing adjustable coilovers with aftermarket springs on his clubman. very cost effective, and every one that has dríven his car comments on how good it is. His shocks are Bilsten's as well . Good to see you getting your hands dirty, car looks great, looks like you really enjoy it. cheers Graeme.

the carpet is plastic backed. neither of the tailors i went to wanted anything to do with it.
not really into sewing machines, guessing there's stronger, thicker, whatever-er needles available?

I have the saddest ending to this thread! I've been quiet in posting for a while because I was wrapped up in uni work and as much as I LOVED this car It didn't quite get the TLC it deserved. It didn't however deserve to end up like this..

Stolen from out the front of the house and joy ridden about 10 minutes down the road, not even. The last time i drove the car it had some surging from fuel so one version of what could have happened is that they gave up or it broke down and they torched it. However the cops are looking into someone who says they actually saw it being dríven while on fire for a short distance so maybe my little miata fought back! Let's hope they at least singed some hair off.. :cry:

Hope they catch the perp. Did you have a hidden killswitch, and would that be recommended for non immobiliser equipped mx5s?

At least you weren't driving it yourself at the time if it was a spontaneous combustion..... Bet it gave the perps a scare, maybe they though it was some kind of twisted anti-theft device!

I hope you had insurance and can replace it sometime soon..... A terrible way for an MX to go.....

Only third party so no love there! But being over 25 the amount I would have shelled out in the last 5 years since i bought it would be more than they would have ever paid out..!
