No kidding, but it will be there with full aero slicks and 325hp, the point of the megasquirt EBC is never needing to turn the boost down, just use the throttle, as its boost by throttle position.

That splitter was pretty effective wow! I know they are hugely helpful for reducing drag and uplift, didn't realise they generate so much downforce too. For my car running 2f you can't do anything really for rear aero but there is a bit more freedom at the front end.

Great work Dann, love that reducer.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Quit "dicking about" and finish off my car :P

Nah, not that rushed yet, I ordered my CP pistons early last week when the Aussie $ was still US$0.97 so they'll take at least 3 weeks to get here since I ordered the top coating too.

Now that you're a sponsor, you'll need a logo too and should consider putting it on your creations too.

Heres a new one.

Im going to do the T02 tiny turbo conversion I promised for 2000 bucks.

But only because the turbo itself owes me nothing, regardless its brand new, the car will use its full straight through mandrel 2" system, with this setup, which will work ok for this teeny weenie turbo.

As you can see the car currently has a Works Engineering universal intake, and full exhaust system.
Image

These three are the stock SE turbo (the IHI), middle is the Garrett T02, also known as AiResearch M10 which is going on this build, on the right is the good old T28 (GT2560r).
Image

This build is super super simple, its basically my idea of a greddy system, done right.

Its a small greddy like turbo, good for 180whp maxed out, a basic, bulletproof, and good for response log manifold, Ill be doing a 2.5" SS downpipe and mating it to the current 2" straight through system.
Im doing a basic Unifilter intake, and a crossover pipe, along with oil feed and return.
So far, its very much like a greddy, with its simple manifold, except that this will have a big 2.5" downpipe, full straight through exhaust, and the big thing, a fully standalone MegaSquirt plug and play 2, ecu.

So here it is, can you turbo an mx5 for 2000 dollars, yes.

How much power will it make, guesstimate around 130whp, which is 40-50% more than stock. It will have double the stock torque and plenty of response and midrange, much like a V6 swap.

Future upgrade path is intercooler, injectors, exhaust, then T25 or T28, all the way to 300whp.

I have been flat out and there will be fresh updates soon.

For now have a weld on a midpipe I did for dmad_dood, a young bloke from somewhere in sydney.

He bought a used exhaust, which consisted of a muffler shop midpipe and name brand axle back for his na6.

The midpipe rubbed and clanged, So I made a fresh stainless one with more clearance, after a drive it still rubbed, and it was discovered that not only didnt it have any clearance the rear muffler section had tiny diameter hangers and was shifteing side to side under the car, So an auxiliary brace was made and bolted swaybar mount to flange bolt and that held it still side to side but still allowed some movement in twisting and up and down.

Heres a weld from it. More available on my facebook page, along with a bunch of non mx5 related builds as usual.

Its not the horsepower, its the torque that will kill the box.

Dont worry, its not like this car is already supercharged and stroked, hang on...

yes it is.
