Free air subs?

Also the amp mounting position is quite clever. Nicely done.

Yep free air subs, I don't think this set up would work with just normal subs, as obviously there is no direct sealed enclosure. Although I guess now the entire boot acts as some form of enclosure. But the subs have their own cast iron cage around them for structural integrity, all up almost weighs like 10kg hahaaaaa. NitroDann would not be very impressed :P haha

Thanks, it looks so simple, but it took so long to get right haha

Yeah, I've got an 8" behind my seat in the same position. Difference is that I got rid of the parcel shelf, remade one of out MDF and then got a fiberglass box that extends down the gep beside the petrol tank and finishes just before where the spare wheel lived.

I will do a write up when I eventually get around to moving the stereo to my LE.

Thanks :) It was abit difficult to get pics as I was putting them in, is there anything in particular you want to see?
But I reckon they sound prettyyyyyy good :) Not up to show car spec obviously, and I'm still fiddling with all the settings, but lets just say now I have massage chairs  Mitch can attest to this! 2x 8" subs is quite a lot for such a small car, and they are right behind your head, so there is a lot of bass, and no rattles because dynamat is awesome.
If you live around here your welcome to come and hear them.

Where abouts in Sydney are you? I've been comteplating of installing a sub behind the seat for a long time now, no real particular photos, I'm just really intrigued.

Amp is in the boot, on the floor of the part that drops away. Had to Google MSSS, no idea if my car had it or not. I've got a 93 V Special, but it already had aftermarket speakers and head unit when I got it. Tweeter covers in the door look like what's described on Miata.net

Chatswood, Northshore.
If you don't care about adding weight ( ) then do it! Because mine is a daily I listen to music all the time, and It reallyyyy has made a huge difference. You probably don't need 2 subs, I only got 2 because it was the same price as 1 (I love America) And then you could have a smaller amp. Cutting the holes out was a bitch tho haha

ZOMG 93 V-spec!!!!!!! I have a genuine mazda promotional brochure for the 93 NA, and there is a double page spread on the V-special. I had my japanese friend translate it for me, and it talks all about the Mazda Sensory Sound System, soooo cool. You have a power aerial and chrome tweeters... means you have a subwoofer in each seat my friend  Well a "bass transducer" but still so awesome, such a shame the HU is gone, you could probably still hook them up though!

I know it's been a while but may I ask where you picked up the tinted polish and trim detailer? I just picked up a BRG LE myself and it could do with a tidy up. Thanks :D

Hi Emily,
It was nice to meet you last night at mb,
I really like your car, i love the old school cool of the V-special models.
If you want the car detailed and polished as good as new, i can do that for you.

Cheers,
Richard

Not quite, Vet Biocience, similar, more focus on genetics/biology/anatomy/research, less surgery. Comparing the courses it actually seems better suited to me so I'm happy, but I wasn't "rejected" from vet altogether, so might get offered it in the later rounds :)

Haha yeah I got them both at Auto One, about $20 each. The Meguires trim detailer is amazing, don't get the cheaper copy ones.
One thing with the polish though, the car has come up REALLY swirly :/ wasn't like that when I did it the 1st time but the recent 2nd time isn't very nice. Maybe I'm just doing it wrong though haha.
