Grrr... So, I got the (new) headers installed, but there is an exhaust leak at the cat. Sounds terrible.

This sh*t should have been checked before the car was given back to me, right?

if it was something you noticed immediately when you drove it, yes. Maybe the headers or midpipe required bending to make it fit flush

Thanks guys. Gonna duck back under the car to try to sort this exhaust leak... It's the flange between the header and the cat that's leaking. I've got about 80% of the leak fixed, just by tightening the bolts. 8)

Unrelated... apparently I'm the most oblivious driver in the world. jdm-mk apparently followed me for 20 minutes on the Pacific Highway, yelling "BROADY BROADY" until I heard him. Maybe the exhaust is too loud    And he said I missed nath going the opposite direction!

I just put the resonator and ECV in my setup, and the difference is amazing! The car is louder now (without silencer, but still bearable) but when you shut the ECV, its almost stock, it's incredible! Deffinately worth the money. Oh and thanks to the resonator, i don't have that raspy tone under 4000rpm.

I'll be getting some soundclips and the like on the blog soon, just thought I'd give you a heads up :D

Car is looking great BTW.

So, I fixed most of the exhaust leak, and wow, the car definitely has more power (and is less loud). Hopefully once it's fully sorted the sound will be a bit less sus on the road. But it's pretty good as is, until you mash the throttle.

I might get a resonator put in, I want to eliminate the drone that exists from 3-4k rpm, hopefully this is achievable so that the car will be quiet when cruising on the highway. Not sure if I will need the Apexi ECV at all!

The headers seem to have given the engine a really deep throaty note, very nice! I like!

Once I sort out intake, I will probably go back to the same dyno to check my AFR and compare power figures.

Must have been Mitch yelling out (red NA8). Traffic was horrid that day up till Chatswoo.
