I found the 'navigation' aspect of the Motorkhana frustrating but the driving fun.

May chew through some tyres but I found I was quicker than many people making smoke by just being smooth. I barely used any petrol. You would have to be very unlucky to hit anything other than a flag!
The navigational aspect comes with practice, more practice and understanding the pattern and flag colours.
Only taken me a couple of years of practice to figure out some of the tests.

For damage, one visit to a sand trap at Phillip Island was worse than years of hitting flags!

First time at Mt Cotton Hill Climb.
Very long day, with lots of down time, but plenty to watch and everyone is friendly and up for a chat.
Maybe 100 cars there.
Anyway, got 2 runs in.
Ran a 56.8, then a 55.05.
Pretty happy with that. Will see how I go today, hopefully get a few more runs in.
But have to watch the red mist, this track can bite.

I know it looks slow, but man, this track is so steep, and the corners so tight.
It is very technical and challenging.
Minx eats it up!

Went round this track as a passenger in my friends ford escort cosworth engine. Just over 46 seconds for a lap record with passenger under 2 litre class.
To say that it was thrilling would be an understatement.
Cheers novice1

Had a great day today at the Hill Climb.
Got 5 runs in, and managed to get my time down to 53.97.
And the car was stable and safe at that speed, never really finding the limit of traction.
So i have plenty of room to improve next time.
Minx handled GREAT.

Thanks to John and Neil for coaching.
The last 2 runs came together nicely and felt comfortable. Another 100 or so laps and i reckon i could actually find the racing line. :P

Nice video! I hadn't seen the Mt Cotton hillclimb before this. Looks bloody tight!

BTW, it's fascinating to see your gear lever moving around so much during the cornering.

Oi, I resemble that comment! Well, I used to. MS3 has been in snow, ice storms, avoided a hail storm, "new" ASE05 #2 is going to be a DD

Car's lookin' real good mate, loving all what you've done since I last saw her.

I'm sure there was a time you said you wouldn't hit the track?? 8)

Good to see she's going strong.

Hope you and Lisa are well.

Here are couple of laps of the Clubman from different angles.
Man it was bumpy out there. Be interesting to watch the V8 Taxis handle those bumps this weekend.
Bloody GoPro really exposes where I am missing apexes

At last, I've FINALLY seen a set of these mythological R-S3s in Australia!

These were the tyres I wanted originally before settling on the Toyo R1Rs since the R-S3s couldn't be found anywhere because Hankook only make them in small batches and they get snapped up VERY quickly in the US.

Like Stuart found, if you want these within the next 3-6 months, order them NOW since they can take a long time to become available when sold out.
Don't worry about dying, worry about not living!
