So this afternoon we finally removed the 15" long hotdog muffler from PaulF's NA6 and fitted the Magnaflow muffler that everyone loved so much on goonies car, making PaulF's exhaust identical to Goonies.
Heres a before video, a video during showing what it sounds like with just the 18" hotdog on the midpipe and an after video.

It also has full 2.5" SS intake with Works Engineering enclosed filter and Spec Miata style filter pickup location, which you can hear also.

Exhaust here has Wozzah's excellent 4-2-1 extractors, Magnaflow highflow cat, 18" long hotdog on midpipe, and 15" hotdog as a rear muffler, its all 2" mandrel bent 304SS and straight through.

This video has just the rear 15" long hotdog removed and the rest of the system in place.

This is the final product with the Magnaflow muffler.

All videos are taken from a similar distance on the same phone, video 2 was zoomed while filming. Revs are brought to 4000 and then its floored.
Inside the car with the final setup is nice and quiet and barely noticeable when driving sensibly, with not a hint of drone whatsoever.

The intake and exhaust compliment each other perfectly, being the exact same volume from the drivers seat when at full throttle.

Heres a couple of better photos of PaulF's intake as has been requested.
Just noticed last it was fitted the AFM cable was draped over the top rather than under the filter.

That's a sensational intake, very tidy
With two laps to go then the action will begin, unless this is the action, which it is.

So next week Dann and I will hopefully do some intake/exhaust comparison videos.

PaulF's car as it is above and my NA6 with a mania intake, ARC chamber, stock exhaust manifold and fujitsubo RM01A catback.

Should be interesting to see the differences/similarities.

I suppose I should say something here...

In short, I'm stoked. The Magnaflow muffler has made my exhaust much quieter all round, but the biggest difference for me is that people don't glare at me when I casually accelerate away from an intersection. :P With the two hot dog setup the car was very loud between 3k and 4k rpm which meant that a normal acceleration sounded more aggressive than it actually is. This is completely eliminated with the muffler. What's more, having a quieter exhaust means I can hear the intake much more under hard acceleration. This combination of intake and exhaust is quiet and subtle and sensible whenever I want it to be, but it sounds great when I get on the throttle as well as giving a significant performance gain and having no drone - at all, ever. I actually struggle to think of a way it could be improved. :)

Ceramic coating on AVO replacement.

This is the highest heat version.

Black on the outside, grey on the inside.

Oh so pretty, but I bet AVO wasn't cheap, guessing $1k plus prob $300 for the coating

It's not an AVO manifold, it's one that Dann built to replace an AVO manifold.

What Paul said, and total cost was a lot less than half what you suggested. :)

Did a good effort on the diff, I have seen a few of them fail in that exact place a few times now.
keep up the good work on the manufacturing Dann. Very keen to see updates on your stuff.
