one day when I get really really bored I might just re-paint it titanium  I never did like the original sunlight silver but I could be lured to the titanium colour

not as difficult as it sounds - paint and panel is still in good order so just a rub back to the grey primer sitting above the original sunlight silver and after that all good to go.......well maybe not that quick

latest update

today the bmw z3 was sold so that starts the ball rolling to have a ND sitting in my garage by the end of the year. unfortunately that puts an end to my plan of upping the power to the SE
to 350 rwhp plus mark while I work on the above ND car project. but its only small money to get that figure and I can come back and complete it at a later date.

next up I will try and knock over one motorbike  or better still sell it. I don't require two bikes anyway. after that the birds should be through the molt and do a cash out on them too. finally a small bridging amount of $$$ to make and close and outright cash deal on a ND and all should be sweet. plus I still keep the SE

I think I will try for a 015 or 016 plate 1.5 manual that will do and I should get one under say $32K. no need for the 2 litre job either. compared to my SE either motor would be outright gutless so its just a waste of $$$$. all I want is a near new mx5 to drive or look at whatever.

well that's the plan and all I have to do is knock it over.............the ball is now in my court and my chances i'd say are extremely good providing I don't get side tracked by any bird deals  and I can make money out of them compared to these car deals  but I have nothing better to do so it will fill in a few weeks!

what about the lotus? well next year one at a time

Congrats BB!
If you haven't already, might be worth having a drive of both the 1.5 & 2.0.

The 2 litre ND is a substantially quicker car than a 1.5 so I reckon 93 has a good suggestion. A back to back road test was done I think in Motor recently and its very clear. Personally I will not buy an ND - too restrictive on space but I reckon the 1.5 is not going to be a stayer. Each to own though: thankfully we dont all think the same.

Please don't paint the ND. Buy it the colour you want and keep it factory.
Take out your painting frustrations on the SE.
But hey, tis your cars!

At the moment i'd be classed in the timewaster category looking at an ND MX5  so best I stay away from them. But I am in actual buying territory if looking at a pair of African Grey parrots

Car wise i still have 10 weeks to get it all under control. Who knows if the deals "FLY" I might end up with the 2 litre GT  and if not I will just have to settle down and face the fact and crawl into the basic 1.5 litre instead

Today I had to work  After all I have to get some money together to buy the ND! Since my trip north in July I have only been in the SE maybe once for a few klm only, So today I took it on a good 100klm round work trip.

Sitting on the legal 90 kph limit of new work @ 2500rpm and knowing you have 180 kph left in the power pedal gets you thinking  but you can just cruise along at that speed in 6th gear and plant your foot down and off it goes down the road. absolutely smooth and drama free.

One small town I passed through at 60 kph in 4th gear at just 2000 rpm -same again. just put your foot down and off it goes to legal 100kph limit. no hesitation at all -just clean smooth power. Lots of road works and speed restrictions in this area too. Plus for some reason or another my 1500 rpm high idle issue has completely gone, It's back to how I first picked it up and idling away on the normal 1000 rpm mark

I now realize I did the right thing moving the BMW Z3 on but it would have been a real shame and a big mistake to let this car go. Also I really have to give credit to Nitro Dann. He really did do one really great build and tune on this beast

On my return home I was thinking about how much get up and go it really has as I tested a few of the lower gears for the very first time....TRUE! and why would I need any more power than I already have. After all under full power it certainly sound agro with the cracks and pops from the exhaust on back 0ff  but on a cruise you can barely hear it and absolutely no droning or vibration whatsoever. That's with the full 3" system set to fully open too. Never tried the Verex muffler closed down.

After I get this ND project out of the way I think it will be back to the tuner for .....another 50 rwhp please!
