Hi guys my mx5 was brought on the 26 of January 2017. It was a completely stock car with 136000kms on the clock since then i have made some modifications and the plan is to get it out on the track for the first time. It firstly started with doing the timing belt on it since it had never been previously done. The next step was to get an upgraded throttle body the skunk2 so I don't get the throttle body failure when install the skunk2 throttle body i came across problems where the original air intake pipe didn't fit on the skunk2 as you can see used to 90 degree bends and a piece of alloy in between. After my engine work was done I upgraded to an alloy radiator to fix the over heating problem with hard driving.
My next step was to start on the suspension and brake work I Purchased front and rear sway bar from whiteline. Was researching on what coilovers to get i end going with the bc br coilovers not spending to much or going really cheap. they were a good choice car is feeling really different compared to stock suspension. I got T3 DBA brake rotors for the front and T2 DBA rotors for the rear also have hawk blue pads brakes work great when the heat up. changed the brake fluid to ap racing super 600.
I also have put a kaaz LSD in it. My 4 point roll cage was purchased from AGI roll cages in sydney really is installation and got my cams certification for club sprints and state championship events. After doing all that work and car was ready to drive I took it to Kirrawee Mufflers to do my exhaust it has an xforce stainless still header high flow cat 2.25inch right through.
After driving it around the car is completely different from when i first brought it suspension is really stiff and cornering is amazing. Hearing the 1.8 with exhaust at high rpms sounds unbelievable. Cant wait to get it on the track and really give the car a hit.
