So today I had a free couple of hours to start fabbing up the prototype turbo manifold.
The head flanges are still scheduled to be CNCd next week so i quickly printed out the flange on paper to start getting an idea of placement.
We are doing 2 different turbo styles, one is a Garrett GTX28 single scroll setup with the new Garrett v-band housings and the other is an EFR 6258 twinscroll.
Having the twinscroll should be slightly benifitial by helping scavenge the exhaust gasses, high compression motors still need scavenging and exhaust velocity unlike low compression motors, We even found running a 2.5" exhaust makes significatly more power than a 3" with the 86s even though it has a turbo, this goes against anything you would read online.

Anywho, here is a few snaps i took of making up the 4-1 collector out of 1.25" schedual 10 stainless steam pipe for the initial Garrett setup.Image

We normally would cut these collectors out of a solid block of billet stainless (collector in the background) but as its just a prototype i didnt really want to waste a billet collector, the design might change a handful of times.

Ps. for those interested, i removed a wheel to check specs.
17x7 +45. 4x100 with a 54.1mm centre bore.
I think initially i will just throw a set of Hankook rs3s on these rims for initial testing of the MCA suspension that will be going on it, hopefully in a few months there will be aome decent wheels specifically for the ND.Image

Kinda.
We have done a few variations, to be honest, about 75% of the efficiency comes from runner length, diameter and equilibrium. We started off using huge A/R but now we have them down to small/medium sizes.

What size turbine housing?

Yea 2.5 all the way, splitting at the diff into 2x 2.5".

Depending on the setup we have been using .57 and .63 housings for our <300rwkw builds. Spool is nearly instant.
