The SUN is out. Time for some open top driving.

Might head out to clear mountain road for another run this arvo. Will probably be a slow cruise to take in the view and some snap shots of the landscape.

Kev

Just been on my 'coffee run' in the NA, not good now, blood pressure is thru the roof! Was parked at BP Southbound and poutting the roof down, plenty of parking available when a cr*ppy black Magna came right up to the door and blew the horn!! Man, he got every *&%$#*&^! word I knew, then she started at me, well I'm not sure any roadmap would show her how to get to where I told her to go! Got in the car and moved while pointing to the sky with my index finger!!

Just filled, 36.2 litres for 449km!! Gave it a few squirts to 6500rpm when merging on the way back!!

There are no shortages of rude drivers about. I tend to avoid them by heading out to country roads for drive rather than busy tourist stops. According to Ken RING, more rain expected next week but hopefully settles before the track day. The weather is looking surprisingly promising now.

Kev

Ken Ring? Forget him!! End of May he said 'June 20mm, July 10mm and August 5mm'

Here, June 191mm and 41mm for July so far! He gets it wrong so many times! I takje NO notice of him at all! Ask my knees, they are the best weather forecasters around! Pain today? Yes, so more coming!

Enjoy the drive Kev :D

After visiting the local stores to check out the contour camera, I went on a solo run in search of routes for the Brisbane MX5 Breakfast cruise run. It will be a non club run and all mades are welcome but it has to have a soft top. I plan on starting one in the coming months. It will probably be a Saturday morning run held every fortnight.

Here is a run down of the road I took. Great (long) drive with very few cars on the road. The road towards the bottom end of Mt Nebo are littered with fallen rocks enough to cause damage to any stock MX5. Caution need to be exercise to avoid costly underbody damage. There were some impressively large potholes along Wivenhoe-Somerset road and Brisbane Valley Highway. A few large enough to swallow my 15 inch tyres whole. They're strategically placed for the left then the right wheels.

I retraced most of the last weekend's club run, starting at Eatons Crossing Road.
  • TR into Clear Mt Road
  • TL Wynn Road
  • TL Mt Samson Road
  • TR Mt Glorious Road - held up by traffic control due to wash out road and very slow Ford.
  • TR Mt Nebo Road - spotted the candy car intercepted two overzealous bikers (in 50 zone area)
  • Continue along Mt Glorious Road (Mt Nebo rd) into Northbrook Pky
  • TL Wivenhoe-Somerset Road
  • TL Brisbane Valley Highway - drive through Fernvale, spotted a few nice bakery makes a good stopping location with ample parking spaces.
  • TL Warrego Highway onto Ipswich Motorway
  • TL Centenary Mway
  • TL Frederick Street - past Government house in Fernberg
  • TR Jubilee Tce -> Stewart Road -> Wardell Street -> South Pine Road
  • TL Pullen Road -> Camelia Avenue -> Plucks Road -> Francis Rd -> Bunya Rd -> Collins Rd
  • TR Jinker Track and homeward bound.

Total distance travelled approximately 180km.

Here are a few pictures
