I simply couldn't do those kind of tests on Wakefield where cars are fast, plentiful and often wreck less. It was a great day out and I learnt heaps about control and the car!! :D

More than happy to help if you like it sideways, come try a drift night on the eastern creek peanut track or skid pan. Great place to learn, but the crowd can be intimidating :D

My only tip (don't want to preach) use handbrake at entry not at apex, and give it a boot full when you drop the brake. This technique best suits overpowered cars, so you might not get much joy from this technique, but from experience comes better results, so keep trying different things. you'll have fun regardless.... Your in a mx5!
So lets go!

Thanks Scotty I'll def give it a go next time I'm on track. I have yet to apply for a cams license but will hopefully sooner rather than later.

Hey Chief,

Yes let's catch up soon.

I've done the PVC DIY Lip again today, set a new record in time to finish. It's cable tied, and black duct taped for colour, but surprisingly, looks pretty OK!!

The write up can be found in my old NA6 thread. :)

Another great day at MDTC, I thought my tyres lost their grip since last time, but I found out I was just going faster. Hit a 49.3 somehow, but the rest of the day was either high 49s and low to mid 50s. Hopefully if I can stick to the lines a bit better and work on my flow, I can be shaving another second or two next time I go.

Edit: Also just putting this out there. I watched some vids of MDTC from you guys last time, you guys seem to take the final hairpin a lot faster than I do. I feel like I lose a hell of a lot of speed there .. any tips on that?

I really like your 'white' on red daisies. Looks really good. Maybe I'll do that as well.

looks great!
I made mine referencing your old thread after I wrecked the one you put on the car. I can't get it to curve perfectly around the front bar.
I've collected all my old and new photos of the car gonna start my own garage thread tonight [something i meant to do 3yrs ago]....
are you gonna have a crack at the indicators again?..

No expert here but you asked for tips.

From the presented footage your taking turn 2(uphill) to close to the middle of the track giving you less turn in and a wider run to the back straight. You could go widered and turn earlier. There is also a smooth patch on the inside line that helps wheel hop!

And as you leave the back straight go wider before turn in to get a better line :)

Your lines seem great otherwise!

Cheers for the tips Hayden, I'll give that a go next time. You coming wakefield end of month?

Chief, I did my indicators already but this time just made them clear without doing the black. I'm trying to do a white and red look this time. To get it to curve around the front, I think you need to cut a few more V's at the front.
