Borked and The Skittle !

Postby Dweezle » Wed Aug 18, 2010 6:06 pm

When my Koni blew on the track the back just turned to mush!!!

Was scary enough in a controlled environment, let alone a public road!

Mark, from where I was watching, "pogo stick" is a more accurate description. It was bouncing all over the place!

Sorry to hear about your off Borked. Hope it's all fixed soon enough.

Aye, hope things start to look up. You sure deserve it after all the problems you've had.

LONG STORY....

I took her to the tracks 2 weeks ago and came back with a small crack on the bumper. Didnt want the crack to get worse so I decided to experiment with DIY bog and paintwork. Wouldnt say its a perfect paint job cuz i got lazy with painting the whole bumper.. Shes 90% done but been busy with work and went down to melb for a few days on the weekend.

Didnt want to drive her around when she was still in progress + after tracking her, I wanted to do an oil change before driving her again and found out the bloody mechanic tighten the oil screw so hard i couldnt budge it...

Haha therefore, shes been there for 2 weeks... i feel so weird with out her haha...

Local Auto Elec has diagnosed a faulty compressor clutch.

Plenty of gas ? CHECK
Power past the gas check relay ? CHECK
Fan for A/C spins when A/C turned on ? CHECK
Belt spins A/C compressor ? CHECK
Front of compressor spins when turned on ? FAIL

This would mean the compressors clutch is dead, right ?

Appears to be a sound fault finding method.
Only extra thing to check is power at the compressor!

Good Luck
