My best new (and cheap) modification is a full cold air ram intake, I fitted an NB8B front bar to my NB8A and have utilised one of the fog lamp holes as a ram air intake with sealed 75mm ducting all the way to the air filter - it is only possible with Morette headlamps which permit full access through the hole which is normally underneath the standard headlamp.

Isn't that a bit low? I'd be very wary of driving on wet days

Not a modification as such but a GOOD QUALITY tyre pressure gauge and a pump, benefits are instant.
When you turn your car on, does it return the favour?

Removing about 30mm of foam from the base of the seat - now I can see out without stooping.
Remove about 20mm of foam from the backrest which, combined with the lower base, improves lumber support and comfort.
Makes the package more enjoyable to drive for longer.

Removing the seat foam was the worst thing I've done to mine. Taking it from the seat base didn't let me fit without stooping, it just made the base feel weird at the front because I think I cut a bit on an angle at the start, and by removing the panel from the backrest I now have a seat that you sit back into, except for the headrest which sticks out an inch or more in comparison and because I'm tall its between my shoulder blades. Really should get around to putting that bit back in
