Anybody else been keeping an eye on this build? I know it won't be everyone's cup of tea, but thought it might be of interest to some.
Mods...I did a quick search and couldn't see anything, but if this is old news, feel free to delete it.

I'd only seen the first build video, didn't think to look for more!
I respect his ability to think "1200HP in a 1000Kg car is a good idea." Seriously questioning his sanity, but still, I'm in awe.
As an aside, this is why Redbull rates highly in my "Good Brands" book. I don't drink their fizzy twitch-juice, but they have a habit of sponsoring people who appear to have done a head-gasket, and it makes me happy knowing there's a company willing to spend money on making some crazy bastard's dreams a reality!

Red Bull is a promotions company that happens to sell a beverage. The RS*R 86 drift car has a Toyota nascar V8 in it producing 900 + hp.

NASCAR engine went and sounded great.. Until it went pop. Why is mad mikes fd quad rotor non turbo? Is it a class thing or personal choice?

I think personal choice. Drifting doesn't have much in the way of engine regs.

I think it may have been a financial choice - prior to the MX5 he didn't have factory backing, so it would have been mostly his pocket doing these projects.
I did see a "building of" video somewhere on the intertubes where it was implied the RX7 was going to be turbo'd, but didn't seem to eventuate for whatever reason - possibly because the car was fast enough to be competitive without it, and then factory backing meant all of the cool bits have now been pushed over to the factory-backed car.
That's my theory anyway...

Fingers crossed he goes turbo for next years WTAC. Didn't like seeing a lack of torque in the back section of the track.
Whatever the reason still an awesome car/driver combo

The build of the Mx5 was delayed when they decided to put another rotor and turbo in it. The RX7 he keeps in Japan is getting a turbo quad rotor.

I like the twin caliper setup for the rear. Never though of that but is a super simple idea.

Did a video with him at Highlands with the RX8, cant wait to see what he comes up with for the MX-5.. Awesome pieces of engineering both the RX7 and RX8.

Almost complete.
"...after two days on the dyno the tune was complete. The result? 1032.1hp on its lowest boost setting, running a simple mix of 100 octane race gas with Mobil two-stroke oil. We’ll let you draw your own conclusions on what it’s making at full whack."
