Speed doesn't kill anyways (sic). It's sudden deceleration that causes the damage.

Told you all
Thankyou for the link.
I watched it, all and it mirrors a lot of what I get flamed for all of the time.

No arguments from me... Been discussing this very point with friends for years.
Check this goat track in NSW, back in 2009 collecting the first SE - and this was the good bit of it! The rest was all potholes.

Let's use my recent experience where I got zapped on Mt Ousley. It's 100kmh on one side, and 80kmh after you crest the hill.
I was overtaking a truck...the drivers know the lower speed limit on the other side so they start slowing and drive below 100kmh, but occassional visitors like myself think, oh well...overtake! Only to be busted on the other side.
If the authorities really wanted to manage speed, they should have posted an 80kmh limit on the uphill side. Instead, they have cops on bikes just going around picking off drivers.

I got a ticket because I hadn't swapped over the rego sticker yet. I had it, I just hadn't stuck it on. This is in a world where cop cars digitally read number plates to check rego. The sticker serves no purpose.

We don't have them in WA any more to save money sending out the stickers (although rego price didnt drop) and they have to send out a receipt anyway.
Sticker is a great reminder of when your rego is due, I know quite a few people who haven't had the rego letter in the mail and have ended up driving around unregistered without realising it.

well the UK has raised the national speed limit form 70 MPH to 100 MPH, and it's working well...
