Hello MX5 Car Talk
I found this forum as I have a google alert search for Race-Technology and someone posted about them on here.
Anyway, thought you guys might like to see some MX5 Race Action from the UK. I have quite a lot as I am working with a driver in the UK for the 2010 season and we are doing full data & video for all rounds.
Here are just a few, loads more on my channel http://www.youtube.com/maxxuk just do a search for mx5
This is the latest, my 200th upload and pretty spectacular. It's just a short clip, most are full races.

I havent read the forum enough to know whether you guys run a full race series for MX5s, like the US SpecMiata series.
Is there anything like this in Australia?
Hope you enjoy the vids, also on my channel Lotus Racing, V8 Supercars (well, the Middle-East Variety), Radicals etc.
Cheers
Maxx

Very cool
Just about to install a DL1 into my MX5 race car and hopefully an RT dash and ECU cable shortly after. One day I'd like a Video 4 system to link them all up but will have to suffice with another single in car camera for now.
We do have one race series for just MX5s called the MX5 Challenge : http://www.mx5challenge.com/
Most of the MX5 racing in Australia though is part of a Production Sports Car series of some description or another, where we are running against Lotuses, Porsches etc.

Hi,
Thanks for the info and your Youtube subscription. They look like great race series and I love the look of that Lakeside circuit, very pictureque. Was also intested to see onboard from Queensland raceway which i've sent to one of the drivers I coach in the middle-east who races in their version of V8 Supercars. He has a test with an Aussie V8 team coming up there in July so we are keen to get all the footage we can.
If there are any V8 fans reading this then there are loads of onboards from the Middle-East series, again using the multi-cam setup on my Youtube channel. We weren't allowed to use our own data-loggers though unfortunately so not overlays but some great race action.
Oh, quick tip on the DL1. Best place to take a rev feed from the the back of the revcounter/tacho display, just run a single wire and it works straight away, no scaling required. The rev feed from the ECU is not really "fast" enough (think it's only about once a second), especially if you start using the shift light feature on the dash.
