NA 1.6 Headlight retractor relay location

Hi, Sorry for the stupid question, but I'm looking for the headlight retractor relay location in my 93 NA 1.6. The Rod's guide talks about a relay in the engine bay, but removing that makes no difference (ie the still work).

I'm trying to track a new intermittent problem with the light stalk. The retractor button operates the retractors fine.

Thanks in advance.

Tim

Not a stupid question.
Not sure regards the relay spot, but I do know that the light stalks do wear out and cause such problems.

Thanks Bruce. I wondered if it could be the switch. There's a fair bit of stuff on the web about relay problems, but I'll test everything - once I find teh damn relay. BTW the relays cost silly amounts of money for reasons not very apparent to me.

Tim, assuming an ADM NA, the Imasen LA10 relay should be under the dash on the driver side. As Bruce mentioned the issue is usually with the light stalk & collar mechanism - from memory Rolley or someone else on here posted a fix for it, but depending on how bad it is, a lot of owners just live with it. Here's some recent posts on the issue:

A number of owners just replace the relay with a used one from a wrecker (doesn't need to be an MX5 wrecker) or ebay.

Thanks very much for the terrific information. I'll investigate further and see where the issue lies. Of course, it all works perfectly today.
