Mazda now has an upgrade kit for 2014 models up that give you android auto and what ever Apples version is. As per their web site it is both a hardware and software upgrade. However there is very little information on it than that.

Has any one purchased the upgrade?

Just wondering if there are any other improvements, like does it give you access to DAB+

Its reasonable to ask if anyone has done it but failing an answer you could get more info from Mazda as to what it does for you. As the sellers they should be able to answer questions.

If I had an MZD infotanement system I would do it. I think it's expensive for what it is, but there's no aftermarket alternative that will replace that wedge dash screen, so it's this or nothing, and I would want Apple Carplay/Android Auto.

I highly doubt you'd get DAB+, that would be an extra module. But you can use your phone to stream any radio you desire, as long as your phone plan has the data.

Check on the BIG froum, plenty have done it with lots of other info there. But I don't think the touch screen works with AA only Car Play? Hope this helps.

The hardware is just the hub you plug a usb device into and the cable and the software is to allow AA/AP. So nothing extra, kind of a big expence, considering there is a hack to get AA/AP using existing hardware...

Aussies also seem to get smashed on the price, local prices for the parts is $450 from what I can find, but ~$150 USD in parts if you order it from overseas.

I doubt much demand thus the higher pricing to recoup costs.
