NB window wiring

Hi,

I’ve disconnected most of my wiring loom but now need to wind up the windows so I can take the glass off.

D’oh!

Can anyone tell me how to connect wires from a battery to the window motor wires? When I look at the plug to the window motor, it looks like there are 2 positive terminals and 2 negative terminals and an earth terminal?

Thanks!!

do you mean the plug on the lead to the motor itself inside the door? On mine that's just 2 wires and the motor runs fwd/rev depending on which way the battery is connected to them. That's how i've moved the window when a doors been off the car before.

If you mean the connector under the window switches, then on mine left to right;
White/red, Green = one door (left?)
brown = power to the switch
black = earth to the switch
Red, Red/black = other door (right?)

Thanks Ian,
I can’t see the motor itself but can get to the connector that I presume the motor is connected to.
I’ve got an NB8B.
Cheers

Those photo's are from an 8b as well. (There's both an NA6 and an NB8B in the shed - but can't figure out how to select more than one in profile.. :? )

Hmm I think I’m not using the correct wires!

Are your photos of the wires under the door lock lever to the left (front of the car)?

I am trying the wires under the door lock lever but to the right (rear)

Thanks

No, the multicolour one is the underneath of the switch in the console. I'll have a look at the car and post the door cabling.

-edit-
(nb8b door) the window motor is the 2-pin connector near the internal door handle (circled)

hope that helps - but looking at the timestamp you've probably got it sorted by now :D

Glad it worked :D

for attaching photo's, I normally do the 'place in line' method - much easier than linking to a hosting site for a quick post like this.

1 - underneath the post window you're typing in there's a tab "Attachments" - click that
capture 1.JPG

click the "Add files" button which will pop up a normal windows window to browse and find the file you want. Hit the 'open' button - which doesn't actually open it, it just adds it to the list and will show up like the image below.
capture 2.JPG

then click the "Place inline" button and you'll see a line of text appear like this wherever your cursor is in the text window;
capture 3.JPG

move that around to where you want it in the post, and you're done :).

--edit--
be nice to the forums and make sure the image you're inserting is small (as it is on the forum, not a remote site). I normally take them on the iphone and then email it to myself and when prompted set it to 'small' or 'medium' so it shrinks them. don't go embedding huge images :wink:
