Would anybody know if these rubber holders are obtainable? The rubber has perished on mine and I'm looking for a couple. Tried Mazda no luck.

Thanks

Thanks Dann, might be a job finding wrecked MX5's where I am though. I'll have a shot. Might hit the big smoke.

IIRC, those are the rubber relay covers for relays related to the AC system, & are used on a number of Japanese cars:

Before making a long trip, try the local anyway.

They probably wont have an MX5, but Mazda used very few MX5 specific parts in the car, much of the parts (especially relays, plugs, etc) were also used across much of the Mazda range, especially the 323 which used the same engine as the MX5.

You'll probably find the Aircon relay for an MX5 is likely the same as in a 323, or a 626, or a tribute.
Probably even the small fords, like the Laser or Festiva.

If you cant find any, it's not that big of an issue, the rubber there is really just a drip cover to keep the relays sort of dry.

if it helps your search in the wreckers, according to parts fiches the relay is used on;
Mazda 323 1986-87 (= Ford Laser)
Mazda 626 1988-97 (= Ford Telstar I think)
Mazda B2000 1986-89
Mazda B2600 1987-89
Mazda Miata 1998-05
Mazda MPV 1993-95
Mazda MX-6 1988-96
Mazda RX-7 1986-88

they don't list the rubber separately, just the whole relay as an assembly (over $40 each new!).

otherwise mx589 on the forum may be a chance? he's western suburbs Melb.

Thanks for that. The ones I found at the wreckers are just as perished and I'm told by Mazda here in Geelong that they don't manufacture them anymore.
I'll have to stop looking at them

Also west of CBD for MX5 parts, but if your NB8B ones are perished then suspect most others may be:
