Strange remote behaviour

Hi all.
I'm experiencing some odd behaviour with my nb8b/c remote.i used to be able to open the boot by itself for years. Now, I have to press either lock or unlock before the boot will open.
I recently changed the remote battery, but it's not the first time I've done that. Otherwise I can't think of anything else except the car battery going flat.
Thoughts?

One of my remotes is doing this too. The other one isn't working at all. I've started to just use the key in the lock instead.
Does anyone know the remote to car syncing procedure? The only ones I've found online are specific to the US cars that have a lock button on the driver's door that we don't have.

It'll work if you press one of the others first.
I'll have a look around to see if I can find this procedure you're talking about.

I've found this and might give it a go later. It's similar to the instructions I had previously.

Yep, one of them is exactly as you describe, the other is dead as a dodo. I've replaced the batteries in both.
The problem with the procedure is we don't have the button on the door frame. I believe they're referring to this button on the door pull:

It'll be the button the senses that the door is open.
Have a look at the pic. I'll be testing it in about an hour.

Saw a few old posts about it on here a month or so ago when I was looking at stuff on remotes.

The procedure is definitely correct, and it's definitely that button. Feedback is central locking.
All good up until the program confirmation. Possibly because the remote is already programmed.
However, didn't fix the issue.

Fairly sure it was Bevan's post or posts in another thread that I saw, but Andrew posted a link to a PDF in the following which includes reprogramming, however it might be USDM:

Couldn't find what thought seen by Bevan or Casey, but did find following, although looks the same as already posted by Nevyn & Tigger:

Thanks for your input, Clubman. It looks similar.
However, after leaving my car for the day, I walk up to it and thought "maybe I will try the boot first again".
And it worked!!! So maybe it's worth giving it a go.
